In my mind the best trade scenario of RW by the Lakers was the last proposed three-team deal that involved New York and the jazz. The Lakers, Knicks, and Jazz discussed a three-team trade with Donovan Mitchell landing in New York, Patrick Beverley and another key Jazz player to the Lakers, Russell Westbrook on the move, and draft picks to Utah. What killed it was Ainge in Utah, who wanted the Lakers two Number one picks in the deal. The Lakers said no.

James signs his two-year extension, with a 3rd-year Player option basically giving him the option of being a Laker for life. Brony should be available to play then. lol!

It's a 1 and 1.

Trust me, I’d much rather you burn another year of Lebron for nothing with Russ lol
That is exactly what is going to occur and Ham has already intimated that everyone will be all in and play defense or they will sit. How long do you think Westbrook and James (who both don't play a lot of D) are going to be all-in on that one? Ham has also stated that he will bench RW if he starts his antics from last year including playing no defense. So, I suspect that eventually, RW just may not come to work (my speculation) which will be fine with James.

That is bafflingly bad management

Especially in a world when the lakers can just buy a bunch of seconds over the years and accumulate enough second round steals to develop a reasonable bench

Yea DJ. The Lakers get James this year on the old contract which runs out next summer and then 1 year on the new extension which includes 1 year and 1 year of a Player Option (which is the Second Year on the extension).

I agree Q and many have come to the same conclusion about the Lakers that you have. If you are Bill Plaschke, the signed James extension just set the Lakers back to last year's mess!

I think the nets should consider Russ Christie and 2 firsts for kyrie

But I think they wanna settle the KD issue first

KD is definitely their priority and he should be.

As long as they think they can get Kyrie, the Lakers aren't going anywhere.

Sure.

If you turn KD around you don’t need to trade kyrie

If kd goes jimmy butler you might well trade both
That is what I think ends up happening, especially if Marks and Nash aren't fired.

I’m curious how demonstrative KD gets when this really hasn’t been his thing before

Lots of luck involved in a 56 game hit streak.

That one is breakable, IMO, although not super likely.
Actually I think it's literally impossible to break that one. The next closest is 44 (Pete Rose). Like mathematically so improbable it can't happen. Every time a player gets into the high 20s the shows start watching. 30+ is a big deal. No one else has even 40. It will never ever ever happen. Ripken's won't be broken either but that is more probable than 56

Also facing so many more relievers, and hard throwing relievers makes it harder

Moving the mound back might make this possible again

Well sure change the rules and the calculus changes but 56 is just such an outlier. Hell I don't think 44 will happen again either

Ripken’s isn’t more probable than the hitting streak, not even close. 500 games is more than 3 seasons…active players can’t even get to that number let alone freaking ridiculous 5x that number. Most of those are unbreakable but that might be the most astonishing. All you need is one tweak in today’s game and they will make you sit out for precaution. Back then it was different but even then it’s insane. Most players don’t play 16 years let alone don’t miss a game
