Not sure the Nets... or anyone else... would be salivating at the idea of paying Tobias Harris around $38 million per.
Look at his metrics with Ben Simmons and then look at Harris metrics with Simmons. He maximizes the Simmons asset which is about the only pot to piss in right now in Brooklyn.

Assembling a version of the 76ers in Brooklyn that doesn't include Joel Embiid sounds... pretty ragged.

What if.....

Say the Dubs were to pull off a Durant trade ..

Would you want......Wiggins....if it could work financially?

He can't go to the Nets for the same reason as Bam.

He'd have to be rerouted.

This is for shits and giggles.

I don't see him going back to the Dubs.

But, wouldn't you rather have him and send Tobias to Brooklyn?
Never considered the possibility but would be very open to that. Like 3 and D possibilities to be Sixers starting 3
Bridges
Wiggins
Barnes

If you traded for Ben Simmons and your entire career is ridding on it, it’s definitely a possibility. You see people chase bad money in the NBA and this guy Marks right now is the guy on watch when Harden Kyrie and KD all bolted. If he really wants to see Simmons become the best version of himself getting a known guy with Simmons chemistry that gets the best out of both assets is a better possibility for them than Bridges, Cam Johnson and a bunch of mid to late first rounders. They can get the same picks but a better player to pair with Simmons than either Bridges or Johnson.

Additionally, Brooklyn is a FA destination. If they can clear cap and become a 40-42 win team with Simmons Harris and the role players there, they could attract the Batman for that group with room for a max after the Westbrook cap space comes off next season.

Ok... anything's possible.

But the entire idea revolves around making Ben Simmons the centerpiece... and looking to build around him. After the past year or two, it's tough to get excited about the idea of building around Ben.

That said: you could be right that the Nets don't have a better plan in the short term.

Still... Simmons is an unreliable headcase. That's what I keep coming back to in my mind.

If barnes was in the deal it would have already been done
Maybe.

You can't be even close to certain that another team won't try to put together a really big deal for Durant too.

I hear ya. But we aren’t the guys who traded for Ben Simmons. The Nets must see some possibility in him. Going into 2023-24 when the cap is projected and rumored to shoot up, they’re only promised 92 million after sending out KD Kyrie and Joe Harris, bringing in Tobias Harris, buying out Westbrook and letting their cap holds go. That leaves them roughly 60 million to spend. They can take a max guy and still have around 20-25 million to spend on depth.

A big part of this calculus is that a Nets rebuild will have to look something like this because if they tank, it’s to the benefit of all of their UNPROTECTED picks controlled by Houston. When the Nets front office are weighing offers for KD I’m thinking fit with Ben Simmons is one of the things they’re looking at.

Any chance when LeBron said he wanted to play with his son that he meant the other one?

What is he like, 14?

He's already 6:4.

Finally made it home.

Watch.....he'll be better. James might try and be the NBA version of Brady. Play till he's 44 or 45.

Watching the USFL title game.

Birmingham leads Philly, 20-9, in the 3rd quarter.

@thunderc why do you think they released Roby?

Somebody will claim him on waivers.

Honestly I think they did him a favor. He wasn’t going to get a lot of playing time but he played well enough last year to improve on what he was going to be making I think.
