As per Marc Stein :

“We already know James Harden and the 76ers are likely to come to an agreement on a shorter-term new contract than Harden is eligible to receive and which is projected to run for two more seasons beyond 2022-23. Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey essentially already promised that after the draft, telling local reporters: “As you guys have heard, it’s a mutual lovefest, so we feel like we’ll work it out.” The mystery stems from the form that new deal takes. I’ve been writing for days about the growing belief among rival teams that the Sixers will successfully lure P.J. Tucker away from Miami in free agency with a three-year deal in the $30 million range. One key option to note that Harden possesses is declining next season’s $47.4 million to ultimately sign a new three-year deal with the Sixers in free agency that starts at a lower number and helps create some extra flexibility immediately for Philadelphia to help facilitate the Tucker signing. Sources insisted again Sunday night that it would be very surprising at this point if the anticipated Harden/Tucker/Morey reunion in Philly collapses.”

Nets are calling his bluff, as they should.

Lets see if he takes the 6 mil.

99.99% of the time you'd say that the guy looking at losing $30 million will blink first...but when that guy is Kyrie....lol

You aren't wrong.

Clear preference.

Well yeah. KD is a little sensitive for Heat culture and there's a chance Jimmy would make him cry at some point....but at least he'll pretty much just shut up and play ball...which puts him light years closer as a fit in Miami than Kyrie.

Yup.

Even if the Nets blink....

Lakers have to wait for Westbrook to opt in.

If it's the same date as Kyrie, all he has to do is wait until the absolute last minute so there is little time for Kyrie to opt in and the Lakers beimg able to finalize the trade.

Kyrie has to make a decision to take the 6 mil.

Because, the Nets aren't caving on Westbrook.

The Lakers should totally break the Internet and preemptively offer AD for KD.

I honestly can't decide if I actually want this to happen or not.

On the one hand...a healthy Lebron and AD with an engaged Kyrie would put the Lakers right smack in the middle of the title convo and with the right roster fillers, make them favorites.

On the other hand...it could be so much drama that it would make last year feel like the good ol' days. lol
Hard to call a shit year like last year the good old days for the Lakers...

He may not be wrong. I think we will see something a good bit closer to real Klay next year...if Wiggins keeps playing like he did in the playoffs and Poole keeps improving, that will be really tough to beat...especially if Wiseman can at least make AD uncomfortable.
That's the plan, plus Kuminga and Moody moving up a bit.

But it's just a plan...lots can go wrong, starting with the usual (injuries)

They're in the mix for sure

Told ya the wallet is open. Gonna keep Payton too I think. Porter I think they let go.

I am really curious what Porter gets.

Him taking the minimum last year instead of GS's MLE actually hurts their chances of keeping him.

Kind of a sick irony.

Honestly he's the least important piece. They are gonna need more minutes for Kuminga and Wiseman so he's expendable. He's a nice bench guy but not a defensive stopper like Payton or a true center who can defend and rebound like Looney
