2022 NBA Offseason thread

Time and again as we repeatedly say. The Lakers don't have anywhere near the means to field a competitive offer short of offering AD or Lebron.

No one wants a Lakers first round pick seven years from now.

And, when most people were saying the Lakers didn’t have the assets to land AD…

They actually didn’t.

2 things happened that were essential for the Laker package to work.

1) AD made it clear there was a short list of teams he would resign with, LA being top.

2) Lakers improbably landed the 4th pick in the draft greatly enhancing the value of their trade package.

Many of the ridiculous trade ideas on here aren't posted by Lakers fans. In fact, shane has posted several himself, including one yesterday or the day before about the Lakers being interested in Beal.

They were in it until AD said he wouldn't re-sign with them. Even after that, a few folks said that the Celtics would still do it and take their chances, but I think that was just folks trying to have something different to say.

They still had WAY better assets than they do now. Young controllable talent. Again unless you're talking trading AD or Lebron.

Obviously Kyrie isn't as valuable as AD was then but he's still a piece that is better than anything LA can give realistically.
