In the article, Gosselin points out that the Lions' special teams were one of only four teams that “did not suffer any negative plays on special teams – no blocked kicks, turnovers or return touchdowns.”

The Lions also finished in the top five in of Gosselin’s rankings in:

  • Opponent starting point: Third best, 23.8-yard line
  • Punting: Second, 49.2 gross yards — a franchise record set by Jack Fox

  • Rookie kicker Riley Patterson converted on 13 of his 14 field goal attempts (93% conversion rate), with his only miss coming from a desperation 55-yard attempt at the end of the first half in Seattle.

Maybe some intrigue and maybe not as all players injuries are not equal nor is their own specific rehab, but...... Akers looked damn good from these tired, old eyes

That one he missed was real ugly though but definitely should be resigned. He is more than serviceable.

Once again, you illustrate your lack of knowledge within the team and its players, but you'll constantly and consistently complain about anything Lions players just to receive feedback.
LOL... the only difference between Tracy Walker playing SS and FS is not as many starts. Walker was still making plays as a SS even though the team wasn't playing for MP. As far as Duron Harmon being considered Matt Patricia buddy, as @Mebert said, IDK, I'm sure MP knew more about a seasoned Veterran. I remember Randy Logan playing the "Wolfman" position (LB/S hybrid) for Bo Schembechler at Michigan before going on to play for the Eagles as a SS. Rod Marinelli brought in hasbeens and bench warmers from the Buccaneers, Jim Schwartz brought in Kyle Vanden Bosch from the Titans, Jim Caldwell brought in Haloti Ngata from the Ravens. So, do we start throwing rocks at Trey Flowers because he was Matt Patricia buddy too?

Is the claim here that Free and Strong safety have the same responsibilities? Walker is terrible in the box and very good playing deep. Patricia had him taking 51% of his snaps out of the box and only 16 at the Free Safety spot. It is 100% that Patricia played his best DB out of position, now he is back in his spot and playing great again.

As for Flowers? I think he needs to stay because we don't have anything better, a 23 million cap hit for a guy who has played half the games 2 years in a row is not ideal though. That is not a Patricia issue. If he gets hurt again or plays down then absolutely get rid of him when you get 18 million in cap space back.

The truth of the matter is Tracy Walker was beaten out on snaps by Will Harris. It's Harris that didn't do so well or the same can be said about up-front.

That would be Bob Quinn hooking his buddy (as you would say) Trey Flowers up.

Harris didn't outplay anybody, Patricia just made the wrong call.

Flowers was an over pay, but it was based on potential. He had 3 years a very good production, and was hitting his peak years. It was a gamble that he would take the next step and he didn't. Thay kind of contract is done all of the time, Quinn just missed. Not hooking up his buddy.

I sure as hell hope Pleasant doesn't get this opportunity. Should A.G. leave for a H.C. job I would like to see Pleasant get the D.C. title. Plus, the development of the secondary under Pleasant appears to be working even though it's only a small sample of one year mentoring this young group/

Risdon is NUTS if he thinks that Holmes should trade for Saints WR M. Thomas. 1st the cost of our 2023 1st rd pic from the rams, our original 2022 3rd round pick and Hock (FUCK THAT NOISE)- 2nd he hasn't been healthy - 3rd he's become complacent and a diva

BTW: I could see Holmes not extending Hockenson and attempting to get value for him before his 5th year option runs out.
