I’m hoping my Dolphins pass on the high end OTs and get the 2nd/3rd tier, average starters. We really only have one NFL starting caliber player in the OL. I’m expecting we sign 1-2 49ers, maybe OG Laken Tomlinson.
Bengals are said to be in on him as well. But then again, everyone that plays offensive line is said to be linked to the Bengals. haha That isn't just FA either. Bengals are said to be landing spots for veteran OL still on teams that could be traded. We will see where this offseason takes us. Contracts are about to go bat shit crazy I think.

I have a feeling we are going to be SHOCKED at the contracts handed out this offseason.

If teams are looking at guys like Penny and Njoku as $10M a year guys and are fine at locking them into that with the tag, there are going to be some real crazy contracts handed out to guys who actually make a difference like Adams, Jackson, Armstead and others.
Well the cap did jump up over 25+M so it's expected but long-term is totally different than tagging a player. It seems a lot of young TE's will be tagged which makes sense.

I guess they believe Rodgers can and wants to play into his early 40's. I believe he can but man, that is a ton of money.
he could retire before his deal is up too.

devil is in details

And they are currently $30M over the cap and still have to hand money to Adams.
Aaron Rodgers snaps the ball to Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers comes up from the backfield to provide a block to keep the pocket clean for Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers drops back, sees Aaron Rodgers covered in the flat, but looks down field to Aaron Rodgers 30 yards down the sidelines and... heaves it!

Aaron Rogers pulls in the bomb from Aaron Rodgers and tiptoes down the sideline and... TOUCHDOWN!

This is what Green Bay must expect.

People can talk how much space he eats up and all that. But it doesnt matter. Packers have hardly ever paid players the entire time they have had Rodgers. They draft and develop. And with Rodgers there, you can pretty much just hand them the division crown for the next 3-4 years if he stays healthy. He is that good.

That is what happens when you have a QB go 136-15.

That is his TD to INT ration the last 4 years combined.

He sure is an idiot and a prima-donna. But damned if he cant play the QB position incredibly well. Hell the only reason he wont go down as a top 5 QB in league history is the above of the Packers franchise never "going for it" and spending money like you would see from most big market teams that have deep pocketed owners.

And maybe that will be good enough to keep bullying the NFCN.

But it won't get them a ring.

DAK PRESCOTTQB, DALLAS COWBOYS
Prescott

Cowboys created $22 million in salary cap space by restructuring contracts for Dak Prescott and Zack Martin.

Dallas cleared $15 million in cap room by redoing Prescott's deal and $7 million with a restructure of Martin's deal. The team converted some of the players' 2022 base salary into signing bonuses -- a widely used maneuver used by teams trying to get under the salary cap. Teams must be under the NFL's $208.2 million salary cap limit by the start of the new league year (March 16). The Cowboys continue to be hamstrung by Ezekiel Elliott's contract, one of the worst in recent league history.

This does feel a bit like their window just closed. They're probably going to have to hit on about 3 draft picks to maintain SB contender status. Only a couple of teams do that every year IIRC.

1) That really isnt Rodgers fault. If Green Bay had a billionaire owner, Rodgers would have more than a single ring. Over his career Rodgers has basically allowed GB to start a half a billion dollar slush fund.
2) Have you seen a SB in the last 5 years? A lot worse off teams than GB have played in and won a SB lately. We are still in the Nick Foles window. And its not like Cinci is a stacked roster. It really is whoever is hot type of deal these days. And it really is setting itself up over the next 5 years that the NFC is going to be the weaker sister conference so coming out of the NFC isnt going to be some tremendous feat moving forward.

A big thing with this is that its going to be different every year.

We're seeing teams go all-in like the Bucs and Rams but sometimes teams build a 'dream team' and it doesnt work out and they turn into Seattle or worse. Cowboys cant even win a playoff game. Niners have QB issues. Chiefs are contenders every year lately but they never really have a good defense so they probably have the same odds as GB give or take roster changes. Bills coaching staff has some real issues at the highest level. Bengals could be building something but Burrow gets hit a lot and they'll have to run through a gauntlet to make it back to the SB.

It makes sense for the Packers to do what they did. They'll still need a lot to go right.

Deshaun Watson's criminal sexual misconduct case will be presented to a grand jury on Friday.

Ten women filed criminal complaints against Watson, and three allege sexual assault or attempted sexual assault. It is unclear how many the Houston DA plans to present to the grand jury, but legal scholars seem to believe the proceeding will be more likely than not to result in criminal charges. Then, either a trial or plea agreement will follow. It is an ominous legal development for the 26-year-old. Despite now a year-plus of endless trade chatter, Watson's NFL saga is no closer to resolution than it was in 2021. His legal saga could be just beginning.
