Long story short, the plan doesn’t make sense. Hire Torts and everything surrounding it was ‘defense, structure, team unity’. And the moves on the ice were to re-sign a guy that sucks on defense (Risto), trade for a guy that doesn’t even try to play defense and also has a reputation of being a locker room cancer (Deangelo), and buyout the team first, defensively responsible guy (Lindblom).

Step 3: Win cup?

Wtf Chuck indeed.

That would be more of the same stupid shit awaz, the stupid shit the principals in the FO declared they wouldn't do anymore.

Yep. And after tomorrow the Flyers will be truly screwed to the wall in terms of cap. For years. With a team that’s too good to pick in the top 5 and too bad to win a playoff round (or even get in). And very few assets to do anything about it.

I hope it’s only 8.5… I’m expecting closer to 10.
Yea me to, I wish they would forgo doing this and split the 10 million for two guys that can make a better impact. Something like Manson from the Avs, and then go after Malkin, try to do like maybe 3 years for him. It would be the same point production, but I think you could do 6-7 million a year, and you could probably get Manson for about 4 a year. Like I've already said, you get Guadreau, you have the Giroux Flyers all over again.

Probably take another future 2nd and/or 3rd to move JVR.
But, hey, why stock the cupboard when you have no idea what ingredients to get.....
Well I unfortunately think these idiots I'm the front office think they can retool and make the playoffs this season.:L Be cause if you were serious about rebuilding, why wouldn't you wait till the end of the year sweepstakes to see what you could get for him. Let him play a lot and hope he flourishes, get his value up. You do it now you're pigeon holing yourself to shitty deals.

I think Fletcher is mortgaging the future to save his own arse for this season.
There's no vision.
No 5 year plan, let alone a 1 or 3 year plan.

Bingo. And he’s even doing a bad job at that. ‘Acquire everyone you can’ is not a plan that can lead to success.

Last summer was the time to go all in and do stuff like the Risto/Ellis deals and take a swing.

It didn’t work. Not even a little bit. They should’ve started the tear down at the deadline. Dealt Giroux. Dealt Risto. Eat 50% on JvR and turn him in to a decent draft pick instead of needing a sweetener. Listen on Provorov and TK, and again be willing to eat salary to increase the return. Hagel turned in to a first because of his sweetheart contract situation, retaining salary on some of those guys would’ve had them in a good spot.

But instead, we have this..

Im hearing its down to the Flyers Devils and Islanders for Gaudreau and we all know we dont have the money to sign him so my pick is he signs with the Devils who have the money to give him and NJ is very close to Philly.

More signings starting to reduce the number of stupid moves left.

I fear we may end up with Kadri at stupid money and term.

Fortunately, they will not have enough cap space to sign him. Right now there is $3.4 mill but after Frost, MacEwen and Tippett sign, there are only a few dollars left. He will get overpaid by someone.

Well I hope this handicaps us from throwing a huge contract at a guy who hasn't won anything or been any more successful than our last leader.

Dude - the Flyers are a huge upgrade compared to my Browns ! Just waiting for their $200MM+ QB to get suspended for at least this season.
