Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Continue To Be Aggressive On The Recruiting Trail

This applies to both 2021 and 2022 recruiting, but I like that it appears Jimmy Lake is being more aggressive in recruiting in areas where we don't normally have a blueprint.

I don't want the Huskies to give offers out like candy, but it's nice to see that they're working on recruiting guys outside of the west coast.

Hate saying this but OSU is in a better spot of getting to the playoffs and making title runs than UW is in.

It's to be expected quite frankly. Although if UW wants to get back to the playoffs and make title runs, keeping talent like that in the state is crucial. It'll be tough to retain guys like that with all of the "benefits" that come with going to a school like Ohio State.

Agree with everything you say. Those teams don't have a problem coming in and poaching home town talent so hopefully Lake and company start doing the same especially in the south eastern part of the country.

The biggest issue is that we don't have the brand recognition and geographic location to realistically poach that much talent from the south east. I think our best bet is mostly focusing on the West Coast and Hawaii.

Fact of the matter is locking up Washington's states local talent for what is arguably the best group of local high school athletes in Washington's history will define Lake's recruiting abilities.

And btw UW's coaching staff is sweating it atm and you can see it by their tweets.

This is true but playing time can account for something. The power house schools usually have kids waiting 2 to 3yrs to start cause of how stacked they are. Washington which does have talent but not on those levels can afford to give a kid a shot in his second year. I like our recruiting on the west coast and Hawaii but too me it's not enough to compete against the Bamas and OSU of the worlds year in and year out.

I'll admit I tweet to UW recruiting targets now and then and here are just a few of the tweets I usually reply to them with. Every little bit helps imo.

That's a tough one to say. Many a 5* QB haven't panned out over the years .. not to say he will or won't. I'm curious to see how he does along with Ethan Garbers and Dylan Morris.

It'll be interesting. As of now, they need to hit on the right QB to start this year.

We need a monster Dline class so great start to land this very talented lineman from the 808. Can play both sides, but will definitely be groomed as a DT. WOOF!!!!
