No confirmation on this, but I read this morning that his wife may have tweeted something out recently about the lockdowns being too restrictive. Not saying that was the catalyst for him being moved, but the trade is a little smelly for the Canucks.

If theyre the same comments youre referring to, she took heat on Twitter right after gaudette got covid because she was on the broadscast pod a couple days prior to the positive test ranting about not being able to go shopping lol

I was hoping the NHL was going to trade in some older used zebras for some newer ones but once again Bettman stands pat at the deadline.

/ although I hear he did make an under the radar deal in shipping all those funky new pucks from the beginning of the season to Singapore for use in their Friday night A league. Wonder what he got in return?

This feels a little like that. Vrana is hella underrated, IMO. Maybe even up with Mantha at this point. Another roster player and a 1st? Damn Stevie.

Only knocks against Vrana I can think of was his pending Arb status and even then was he really going to get more than the $5.9m Mantha makes? They must really think Mantha's going to fuck shit up alongside Backstrom.

I also don't think Vrana's gonna be in Detroit long. They might get two firsts and two seconds outta this yet.
