To be fair, it looks like the Nuggets were trying to avoid the Lakers too.

Although, I don't know how seriously folks take the Nuggets as contenders.

That's true, but the higher you are seeded (meaning 1st is the top pick, then 2nd, etc) matters as to how far you could drop down.

Okay I think I finally thought of some phoney baloney nonsense why Steph's overrated. His career assist average in 6.54. That's 38th all time. Not good for a PG. You who else averaged the same amount of assist as Steph? Pooh Richardson. Sure you know that name. He was a Bruin right?

Jerry West only averaged fractionally more than Curry for his career at 6.69 apg.
Gary Payton only averaged 6.72 apg.

There's precedent for high scoring PG's to not producing a ton of assists.
