of course guys arent happy- especially with the recent losing. The cavs actually started off pretty well. Then a ton of injuries and youth got to them.

And during the Lakers 8 year playoff-less streak there was plenty of rancor- it wsnt too long ago Magic Johnson was resigning and Russell was ratting out teammates and it was a mess.

it can change pretty quick with a star.

the tough part for the Cavs is any stud draft pick will take a couple years to really be a high level guy. Ja Morant has taken the Grizz into a team that can do stuff pretty quick though. We shall see. Cavs need a top 4 or 5 pick in this draft. Top 3 would be ideal.

Getting a top 3 pick would be huge. Anyone of Cunningham, Mobley or Suggs would be a great fit on this roster, along with being an elite talent.

No i agree. But its media too. Like the whole cp3 for mvp thing. Has he turned that team around? Yeah. Is he a too 6 mvp candidate heck no.

The Suns have the 2nd best record in the league. The Wizards are 9th in the East. That's the difference.

To be fair to the Cavs, it's not like FA's are lining up to sign with them. So a quick rebuild was never in the cards. Gilbert has shown that he will spend if he has a contender. So it's not like they're owned by Donald Sterling.

Having said that, if that's what's going on, that's not good. It could mean literally having to re-start their rebuild from square 1. Might be time for the GM and coach to have a "come to Jesus" meeting with the players to find out who wants to be there...or is at least willing to stick around and be a part of building something. Then start releasing and shipping guys out for picks and expirings.

That is just it.

This is what I was trying to explain to DT a few weeks ago.

Whether Cleveland keeps their whole core, or blows everything up and starts completely over, they will be in the same place.

Praying for a lottery miracle.

This is why I think small market teams like Cleveland, Minnesota, etc are better off going the Philly super tank route.

They need to get lucky. Just like every other team. They got lucky in 2003. Got luckier that Lebron decided to come back for image rehabilitation.

Not like every other team though.

Some are a lot more attractive to star free agents than others.

Won't happen. Milwaukee might never win another title either but Cleveland for sure never will. It's just how it is.

Milwaukee and Cleveland are almost identical in terms of NBA market.

Put a legit MVP caliber player and some nice complimentary pieces around them and they have a shot.

In cities like Cleveland and Milwaukee, you might get that player once every 30-40 years. So you best make the most of it.

It is very unlikely. Not impossible.

If the wizards keep winning why isnt russ in the mvp convo. Curry is a top 4 choice in the sportsbooks. Teams arent that far off.
Curry scores more, russ is just being epic in all phases.

russ isnt even listed on draftkings, beal is...like gtfo lebron, chris paul, donovan mitchell all higher and others

Russ was pretty bad the first half of the season and Beal is a 30 PPG scorer.

Sorry, but the Wizards would have to be top 4 for Russ to be a legit MVP candidate even though the roster beyond those 2 is petty weak.

I was referring specifically to the draft. Some teams have the luxury of being desirable locations(LA, Miami). Some teams have really good coaches and front offices(Spurs, Raptors).

I have a vision and I know in my very soul that the Cavs will never win again. Look inside yourself and you will see I'm right.

could not agree more, Celtics need someone who will light a fire under their ass

Like I mentioned yesterday Marcus has missed 21 games. Kemba's missed 26 games. And Tatum got the virus. All the blame for this disappointing season shouldn't fall on Stevens.

Stevens is overrated as a coach

This is kinda funny. Did you know that since Stevens became the HC of the Celtics ('13-'14 season) he has more playoff appearances (6 in a row) than Spoelstra (2)?

And just in case you try to take things outta context I'm not saying he's a better HC than Spo. Just that I don't think he's as overrated as you wanna believe.

Curry has been much more efficient than Russ, which I think is also playing a role in it.
I suppose, but theres many others as well. Russ doesnt even have listed odds. I know sportsbooks arent the be all end all.

He and Spo are about the same.

Solidly above average NBA coaches.

Give either a championship roster and they can win. Stevens hasn’t had that ever. But he has done well enough to convince that the Celtics should be contenders when they really aren’t on that level.

Yep, and his stats arent special. Its media bs

There's a lot more to being an MVP than stats and CP3's stats are in line with his career numbers. If it were about just stats, Westbrook would be considered the favorite.

Westbrook's presence has little effect on winning. CP3, on the other hand, is the most notable difference on the Suns.

To be clear, CP3 isn't winning it, but he deserves to be in the convo...Westbrook, not so much.
