No. He's top 10 without a doubt.
Nah, I have him just outside.

Oh my bad. He'd be a top 5 player with his skill set.

No doubt about it. Probably even top 3.

He was a 90/50/40 guy who matched up and beat (even though we like to forget about it) the Showtime Lakers.

If Bird was in his prime in the 90's, MJ probably wouldn't even have half the titles he has.

1-MJ
2-Magic
3-James
4-Kareem
5-Kobe
6-Wilt
7-Russell
8-Shaq
9-TD
10-Oscar Robertson

Bird and KD are right outside IMO. Think if he can recover KD gets in eventually.

I prefer ranking players by eras but that is a solid list. As much as I hate Duncan, he belongs in the top 10 imo

We should do something like that on this board.

Top 10 from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 20s, 10s

The problem with Harden is any team that deals for him is now making him the franchise. The problem with that is even with an ideal core around him he's not taken home the prize.

Simmons is much younger. Not a cornerstone like Harden i guess but expecting much more means he doesn't get dealt

The problem for the Rockets (and Harden for that matter) is that from what I've heard, they are looking for a package similar to what the Pels got for AD.

But, what they don't seem to be considering is that the Lakers situation was almost a perfect storm of circumstances for both teams that allowed them to pull that off.

As @Wamu would say: "I'm unsober" but off the top of my head, I can't think of a team that has an established superstar looking to win now and a grip of promising young players that can be traded away for a 2nd superstar player to get them into contention right away.

Simmons, some picks and filler, may be the best the Rockets can get. Contenders would have to give up too much of what makes them contenders and a young team would be giving up their future (or a lot of it) just to have a star player who puts butts in seats. But who, at best is going to get them a couple of first round playoffs exits and starting another rebuild in a couple of years when he moves on or retires to be a strip club mogul.

Speaking of unsober. I think I'm unsober. But I'm not sure.

60's and 70s might be pushing it a bit for me, other than read stats online.

But 80s onward seems cool.

I could do a top 10 for the 60's & 70's. Now what would be tricky are the 50's. No thanks to that decade.
