Taking 8 seconds to slowly dribble away from the basket into a step-back 3 over the outstretched arms of Giannis is terrible, terrible offense.

JT and the C's got lucky there.

Like I said, I'll take it and I'm happy for the W... but as @The Q would say... that's bad process even though we got a good result.
I watched the game again this morning. That entire play was all Tatum and Stevens wanted him taking the three. The only thing that he could have done was try pass the ball off if anyone had moved to his side of the court. They cleared and iutwas 1 0n 1 with Giannis and if he didn't make the shot, there was the chance of a 3 shot foul

The problem was that Giannis didn't get suckered close and Tatum had to step back to shoot over him and he made a lucky shot, much like the one that the bucks made in the bubble against them.

The real pisser was giving Giannis the gift foul with 0:00.04. They came away and said the foul occurred ""Before"" the shot. There was no contact before the shot. That was gifting Giannis because Tatum embarrassed him on the 3 that put the C's up by 2.

Great sportsmanship by Giannis. He missed the second free throw and lost the game and almost ran off the court while all of his team mates were congratulating the Celtics. Exactly the message that the NBA should be sending to every kid playing basketball. "This game is all about you."

A big problem with Tatum in end-of-game, "money" situations is that he is entirely predictable.

Everyone knows that Tatum wants to (ineffectually) dribble some... then set up for some type of low %, hero ball, step back shot.

Giannis was sitting on JT to fall into that tendency and played it perfectly... Tatum had to throw up a high-arching prayer to even get the shot off.

Attacking the basket should be the #1 idea in that situation... but JT's idea from the beginning is to settle for an outside shot. That's a problem.

What's on the Xmas day menu, @Wamu?

Having a 20 pound turkey, mashed taters with gravy, stuffing, mac n cheese and some kind of veggies.....unsure on what that'll be right now.

Daughter wants to go to the mall and see if they have a pair of sneakers for her BF back in NC.

Getting there ASAP when it opens so it's not a shit-show. I could complain (not really) but it's time spent with her while she's here and that's always good.

Did the turkey for Thanksgiving. Doing a ham for Christmas with twice baked potatoes, asparagus, candied yams, rolls. Making pumpkin and chocolate cream pies for dessert.

I love Asparagus, I wanted a ham but with a 20 pound bird? And just the 3 of us? Makes no sense since I'll be eating turkey for 1-2 weeks after Friday.

Think it's going to be a corn-black bean mix for the veggies.....love that.

Can eat it straight or get some tortilla chips and hot sauce and dig in.....
