Day to Day
I watched the game again this morning. That entire play was all Tatum and Stevens wanted him taking the three. The only thing that he could have done was try pass the ball off if anyone had moved to his side of the court. They cleared and iutwas 1 0n 1 with Giannis and if he didn't make the shot, there was the chance of a 3 shot foulTaking 8 seconds to slowly dribble away from the basket into a step-back 3 over the outstretched arms of Giannis is terrible, terrible offense.
JT and the C's got lucky there.
Like I said, I'll take it and I'm happy for the W... but as @The Q would say... that's bad process even though we got a good result.
The problem was that Giannis didn't get suckered close and Tatum had to step back to shoot over him and he made a lucky shot, much like the one that the bucks made in the bubble against them.
The real pisser was giving Giannis the gift foul with 0:00.04. They came away and said the foul occurred ""Before"" the shot. There was no contact before the shot. That was gifting Giannis because Tatum embarrassed him on the 3 that put the C's up by 2.
Great sportsmanship by Giannis. He missed the second free throw and lost the game and almost ran off the court while all of his team mates were congratulating the Celtics. Exactly the message that the NBA should be sending to every kid playing basketball. "This game is all about you."
