Sabonis and Vlade were great passing big man for sure. Drummond an all-time great rebounder. Pretty underrated defender and better scorer than any of those guys. All around all those guys are underrated though

Obviously I'm biased on Drummond but now that he isn't a total liability at the line he's a real asset even in an era that devalues bigs.

His ability to float to the perimeter probably wouldn't be as valuable in the 90s nor would he had to develop it though to be fair.

Schroder, trez, and gasol are upgrades at each of their roles at this stage in the player they replaced careers.

I still think they need a backup center behind Gasol though. I can see scenarios, especially come playoffs, where Gasol in his older state will be a liability and while Davis can play center, you don't really want to tax him that much. Trez and Morris can't play that role. Basically, they're gonna need someone to give them minutes like Dwight Howard did in the playoffs last season. Not many minutes, but just enough to get by. Just waiting on the buyout market in a couple of months

How many teams do you need that player against?

Philly might be the only contender where you need a true center and Gasol is great to bang with Embiid for 20-25 minutes.

AD and Kief at 4-5 is really dynamic and I don’t think there are many good teams that can punish that duo inside.

KCP is efficient as Hell this season, shooting 53.5% and 55.3% on 3-pointers.

Not the run down version that came to the NBA in his 30s.

Was just about to type the same thing when I saw your post. NBA Sabonis was good...but prime Sabonis is in the conversation with the best bigs in history.

But he can make Embiid work defensively and maybe give him a couple fouls.

He is playing great but it isn’t about the regular season...he gets paid like a star so he needs to be this guy consistently in the playoffs for the Clippers to succeed.

True but this is why i was never against him getting what the clippers offered him. If contracts were just about playoffs performances then harden isn't a max player either. He is a top 15 player
