admittedly i basically never watch the Spurs. But i just dont know what this team is trying to be and i dont know where its going. I really hate their roster---i get they dont want to rebuild with Pop in his twilight....but its just such a weirdly constructed team.

I think the Spurs are waiting for this off-season to completely retool. They have Aldridge, Derozan, Mills and Gay all off the books, clearing almost 79M off their cap. Or they can use all those expiring contacts later in the season to see if they can bring back some young talent back. It'll be interesting to see how this develops.

Anyone watch NBA tv's Basketball stories: a decade to remember?

It's about the decade of the 10's. Worth checking out for those that haven't seen it.

I don't know if he is a terrible coach in that he might wind up being a good coach somewhere else. But I do think he was out his depth in the environment in Philly. Going from tankathon to trying to build a contender was just too much for him.

It was the typical coach wins a few games and let’s keep him around even though the team has underachieved.

Imagine what the 6ers could be today if they had kept Hinkie and fired Brown for a high level coach 4 years ago?

All those assets + cap space just squandered.

Yeah. Firing Hinkie is on Silver though.

In fairness, there are really only a couple of moves that the Sixers did or did not make that I think could have made a big difference.

Drafting Fultz ultimately was a mistake. But at the time, he fit the roster soooo much better. There wasn't a clear roster spot for Tatum at the time.

Trading for Jimmy Butler was a mistake. Not sure ultimately how bad a mistake it was.

Trading for Tobias Harris was a mistake. While the hate being thrown at Harris is ridiculous, he clearly is overpaid and the Sixers gave up a LOT of assets to get him.

I do think about the 1st Celtics-Sixers series. IMO, that was when Brown completely failed as a coach.

Thanks for not drafting Tatum.

From the Yep I'm Getting Old files:

I just put a cup of water in the microwave to heat up, and when I set the cook time, I entered my 4-digit PIN.
