It is a slippery slope for sure.

I thought the NBA came out and said they wouldn’t force players to get vaccinated. I would be perfectly fine if they do.

However, it seems there are enough NBA cities with vaccination mandates that if a player refuses, they are going to miss too many games.

So either mandate that all players get vaccinated or sign off on exemptions so that unvaxxed players can play.

It is really stupid if guys like Wiggins and Kyrie are forced to sit more than half their games.
It is really stupid...
Of Kyrie and Wiggins

I think it only applies to home games. For example, Wiggins would be able to play in NYC

What about other cities with similar restrictions? I think LA has similar one re: venues like Staples.

I haven't heard anything about the LA yet but it does sound like they'll be the next to do it. Think Lakers are fine though. Heard somewhere that all of the players are vaccinated

Yeah, I just read yesterday that they expect to have everyone vaccinated by the start of the season. But I'm wondering about unvaccinated visiting players. If I'm correct about LA having similar restrictions to San Francisco...then Wiggins and other unvaccinated players may not be able to play in Staples Center.

Don't think so. I know when the restrictions were announced in NYC, it said away players not vaccinated can still play

Honestly, what is the point of that?

Wiggins can play in Brooklyn, but Kyrie can’t?

That is stupid.

That's my thought. I don't see how the NBA can overrule a city ordinance.

Also, does that apply to visiting fans? Are they exempt?

And they wonder why so many are questioning this stuff.

All fans must have the vaccine to attend a game in Brooklyn. My guess is the exemption for away players and staff is probably because they can provide a negative test within 24-48 hours since unvaccinated are being tested daily

It doesn't make much sense and I have yet to see a really detailed reason why this wouldn't apply to visiting players. I think it should but don't see it being a huge deal. Last report was about 90% of the players in the league already vaccinated. Have to think that # go up before the season opener

That makes a little more sense. But I would think that a home player would be able to do the same.

He wouldn't. It would apply to anyone entering an indoor venue with x amount of people. No exceptions. On top of that, if certain teams decide they will not allow unvaccinated people in their venues, even if there is no city/state mandate, that would be enforced too.

In the example of Wiggins, he wouldn't be allowed to play home games AND games away to the Knicks and Nets.

He would though.

Visiting players are exempt
