Was disappointed the only front court help they went after was 50-something year old AL Horford. Hope he'll be of some help.

Was very happy with the Smart extension, he's my favorite Celtics currently.

Hopefully they don't get slammed by the injury bug & hopefully the virus stays the hell away from the team.

Hey did you see that dumbass former dookie Jay Williams incorrectly congratulate the Celtics for hiring Ime Udoka? That clown thought Udoka was the teams first ever black HC.

Obviously he doesn't know a damn thing as B. Russell, K.C. Jones, & ML Carr are all former Celtics coaches.
Horford can still play. He played well for OKC.

Schroder? Hope he doesn't do there what he did with the Lakers.

Hell no.

Has anyone uttered something that ridiculous? Because, if it was me, I assure you it was a typo.

I just said he was the better fit and he is.

I get the Schroeder thing.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

But, LeBron is still the point guard not Russ.

So, Monk or Nunn could have occupied that spot ala a swap meet version of Jamal Murray.

But, I do concede that things would have been much harder he moment LeBron went to the bench because none of those guys are distributors.

Lakers definitely needed more than Monk or Nunn; their major concerns going into this season was shooting and someone to create on offense. They struggled mightily whenever Lebron was off the floor. Russ should fix that, and also allow Lebron to rest longer to be rested for the 4th quarter push. Russ/Lebron/AD's minutes should be staggered so that at least 1 if not 2 are on the floor at all times (in games that are still in contention).

Horford's a pro's pro. He'll do what he can/ is supposed to do. Solid vet in the locker room. As far as Schroder I don't know what to expect from him next year.

DJ, he's always gotten wide open looks. The oppositions game plan is to let him shoot because he can't.

He will eviscerate you in the open court and put you on a poster driving in the lane.

But, he can't shoot. These are facts.

Exactly. That's why the Lakers are going so heavy to add shooters. If they're just depending on Lebron, AD and Westbrook, defenses will shrink down and make the Lakers operate their offense in a phone booth.

Imo, the way they are built...if the Lakers can stay healthy and get close to league average shooting from 3, they've got a great shot at making the finals. If they're above league average from 3...they likely win the title.

Al can rebound, pass, score 13-14ppg and play a little defense,, he' not as good as he used to be but still above average.

No doubt about that. I'm not badmouthing his play or anything. Just wish the Celtics could have found some younger front court help. But on the plus side at least Kemba's gone. Looking back at it I don't think he was a very good fit.

Not really. Smart should be in that range as well
I'm cool with Smart's contract.

His impact is greater than the sum of his statistics... including leadership...

... (but it would be nice if he were a more consistent outside shooter).

Unless he's a complete moron, he'll be on his best behavior. He's got about 78 million reasons to behave himself. lol

He's gonna stick it the Lakers! He'll average 18/4/5 and go 50/45/90. Yes, I'm baked right now. So of course that ain't happening.

Y'all need a veteran presence like Horford IMO.

He's a rough rider every team could use.

It'll be interesting. What happened is completely on him. I mean, if you're going to turn down an offer that was already a $3-5 million per year overpay...you might not want to play inconsistently and be a locker room problem. lol

But, if he feels like the Lakers weren't fair to him, he may try to ball out against them.

He'll probably be out half the season for covid related issues, just like he did on the Lakers
