Hey now, this is the last season with Deng on the payroll lol. They stretched that with far too many years left on his deal.

Shit, they might have been better off sending Westbrook home and bringing in Deng and making him play for that money. lol

All the talk about Russ this/Russ that.
The dude just needs to go to a decent team where he can come off the bench and contribute.
But that contract of his needs to be reworked 1st & foremost.
He shouldn't be a starter anymore at this point.
Period.

:2cents:

So, the Knicks should trade for him this offseason and extend him at a lower number? Agreed!

He was fine last year with the wizards. He isn't going to add much if anything to his game but he needs to be on a club where the ball in his hand most of the time due to his inability to shoot. Assuming he goes to a team that can provide that, I think we see closer to that version of russ
Exactly.

He isn't toast....not yet.

Trade Wiggins for an explosive PG with no jumper?

Which is why I think they'd just eat the 1 year of Russ.

Who would you sign with the Savings?

It's not worth it unless you are getting a star.

Books will be clean soon.

I'm thinking along the same lines. They'd have to do it by Sept 1st if they wanted to stretch the money, so maybe it comes down to the MLE possibilities and where they stand vs being hard-capped.

Then the Lakers should just keep him.

He's cooked as a star.

Absolutely cooked.

Should he be out of the NBA?

NO.

But, there isn't a single team he should start for outside of maaaaaaaaaaybe Orlando.

Since they have 3 young pg's and are going nowhere fast, not even them.

Nobody wants a overpaid, past his prime, low IQ PG who won't accept a bench role.

Well, he has regressed even more from last year.

Can he still post stats on a bad team?

Yes. But who really needs that from a 34 year old max player?

Exactly the opposite of that.

He won’t accept being a bench player right now, why would he accept it for another average team next year?

This happened too? Kat you are doing too much. Lakers won't be down for long with lebron on the team. There is a high possibility they are better than the wolves next season while your biggest accomplishment will be once again losing in the first round. Beat the Clippers in that play in game. You don't want to see the lakers in a win or go home situation

Bro, nobody is afraid of LeBron anymore.

Might be premature. But, they aren't.

Dude's like Luka are actually hunting him in switches and he can't guard a true center, not even one like KAT.

With that being said, the most egregious act was KAT calling LeBron a BAN * BITCH ASS N *

That's fucking flagrant.

Don't have to be afraid of Lebron to get your ass kicked. I saw what Lebron did 2x since the AS break and that was without Davis. With AD, he can light Minny up for a calm 33/8/6 and that would be more than enough to send them packing.

7 years in league and yet to win a playoffs game. He needs to stop talking fast.

The guy is going to be halfway or so into his career and yet to win a playoffs series and possibly not even a playoffs game because they are not beating Memphis or Golden State 4 of 7

Yep. If we know anything about the league, we know guys are petty and it seems that the bigger the star, the more petty they are.

Nothing wrong with a little trash talk, but a young guy taking it too far against older, bigger stars...he may have some harsh lessons coming his way.

KAT's teams have a winning percentage of 42% in his 7 seasons. 60 pts the other not notwithstanding, he's proven about as much as Shareef Abdur-Rahim. In past decades, he would be due at least some elbows. These days, with flagrant checks for anything and everything, he hasn't (and likely won't) be put back in his place.

Yeah and it's not 100% Westbrook. 29 games in when the Lakers had been relatively healthy and had all 3 available they were 16-13 while still trying to figure out how to play together. In that, they had wins over the Grizz, Cavs, Heat, Celtics and Mavs. Then the injuries hit.

Even then, it may not have gotten too bad if Westbrook could have just gone full Russ...but guys were in and out of the lineup and they were still trying to fit Russ in.
Even if they could have continued that trajectory, which I don't think they would have, you'd still be a near .500 team and likely 8th this Season instead of 9th.

Minny is 11 games over. Not sure you would have eclipsed that.

It's just a bad roster with too many old guys that can't contribute.

Bradley will have a good game, be injured for the next 3, contribute nothing the 3 after that.

Bazemore, Jordan, Ariza pretty much washed.

Ellington can't provide enough shooting to justify giving him minutes.

Howard glued to the bench.

Westbrook going Westbrook and AD being hurt just exasperated the situation.

THT giving you zip doesn't help either.

Still, a few good things have come from all of this.

Malik, Johnson have proven they belong and Reeves has been a great find.

Not sure any of those would have happened with a healthy roster.

Sure.

Still, at his age LeBron can't guard him.

I'm not a KAT fan.

He's done zip.

Within 2 seasons, he won't even be seen as their franchise player, Edwards will.

There's plenty of people Lebron can't guard; he's old and bulky and never was a lock down defender.
