For me, it was the 13 steals and 15 blocks against the Sixers.
Which means poor decision making.
Which means players trying to do too much and not working within the flow of the game.

I've said before that my worst fear with this team is the coach.
Well, being fair, decision making is on the players on the floor as well. It’s tough to judge without being in the room. We don’t know if it was a shit plan or the players didn’t execute right. My guess is it was likely a mix of both things.

It really isn’t about the game that should worry Philly…just one game. It’s about Harden’s play. Trying to flop, not getting back on defense, etc. He still isn’t a good defender.

I also think it was a huge game for Seth. Dude balled out, he’s been pretty quiet since the trade.

His flopping for fouls in the 1st half was embarrassing

It’s gonna happen (the talk). I posted this earlier. The Sixers identity is a bunch of guys trying to prove themselves and end all the Yap that surrounds them. Harden Embiid Doc etc…they all have “yeah buts” about them.
Fire him after 2 seasons? Who are they gonna get that is better?

He's way better than Brown.

I agree he’s better than Brown. But that doesn’t mean he’s good enough. I’d prefer Doc over most of the other options out there. But this is sports. When teams fail often the coach becomes the scape goat. It is what it is.

@DJ in here pretending like this Doc criticism is coming out of left field...

... questions about how good a coach Doc actually is have been swirling for years... last night is just yet another reason to bring them back to the forefront.

I don't think he's the main issue.

The Sixers made 32% of their shots and the Nets made 56% of their shots. Pretty hard to win when that happens.

For all the talk he could be #3 Maxey sure laid an egg.

4 points on 2 of 7 shooting with 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 steal.
And it’s the likely the first real bad night he had all year. Ha. The hot takes over a regular season basketball game.

I’m too good for your bull shit, bro. Don’t try and put words in my mouth. I’m saying it’s a regular season game and they all count as one of 82. The energy in that building was about Ben Simmons hate. It was fan driven. It didn’t change the stakes on the game whatsoever.
it was such weak hate though.....this is the same philly that is notorious against former players- that booed santa claus and single handedly ups the sale of duracells in the area.

It was a cake walk compared to the hate Bron got when he came back with Miami. You guys practically rolled out the red carpet for him.

Sure... when it comes to a stat like FG%, one game is only one game. Any given night in the NBA, and a team could go cold or hot.

When folks criticize Harden or Doc after a game like last night, though... it goes well beyond one night. This is a troubling pattern for both in big moments... (and last night was a big moment by regular season standards).

as for the game- philly just laid a stinker.

So many good teams in the East- and a lot will depend on matchups.

For the Cavs- i dont give them much of a prayer vs. any of the top teams- but Id hate for them to play philly since thats a bad matchup for them. Like the Bucks seems like a much better matchup. Its the same for a lot of teams.

I didn’t watch so I can’t really comment other than what I’ve read.

I think it is fair to criticize the coach when a team goes into such an obviously big game and seems ill prepared for the intensity of the game. Yes, it's professional sports but coaches are still responsible for getting players ready to play. The Sixers have been starting slowly for a while now, last night was not an anomaly. We knew sooner or later they would pay for it.

Let’s be real. James Harden isn’t going to end that talk about him or even post a “piece of evidence” against that narrative in a regular season game. If he had a 30 point triple double last night and the Sixers won the talk would be “well, wait until the playoffs roll around.” Harden Embiid Doc etc are writing their legacy in the playoffs not on March 10th.

Shit, in a series, the Sixers just have to split at home. No Kyrie in Brooklyn and they will have Hack a Ben to deal with.

Kids puking on that retreat?
I got got myself. Puked around 6 pm and then again around 11 pm. The biggest piece of the retreat wrapped last night around 1 am. Drove home. I feel like complete ass. Can’t keep anything down and yet still pissing out my asshole. Hope it’s just a 24 hour thing.

^ This is totally true.

The best both could have done last night is shut the haters up for a day or two.

Instead, they laid an egg and gave the haters plenty of ammo to talk it up for the near term.

The slow states are a legit problem.
