there are 3 minutes left in the Lakers game. A game where they are getting destroyed.

LeBron is still in the game. He has played 36 minutes.

This makes no sense to me. What is Vogel doing?
Holding the clipboard.

C'mon...

We all know Lebron controls his own substitution pattern.

After getting into it with fans behind the bench and getting one kicked out, it's probably easier for the players to be on the court then to sit on the bench and listen to the vitriol.

with LeBron's age, and the fact that he was signed for 2 more years- I hate the "forced" word.

I totally agree that LeBron likely wanted RW- but at what point does the GM have a spine and do what he thinks is best for the team instead of letting a 37 year old LeBron who is under contract for 2 more years run the show?

That was weakness on Buss and Pelinka's part.

especially - you know LeBron is not going to take responsibility. Its not LeBron's ass that is in the hot seat if the move fails. Its the guy with GM and Owner in their title.

One of two things is true

1. Pelinka let LeBron convince him to make the deal even though he thought it was bad for the team

or

2. Pelinka thought it was good for the team.

Either one of those options makes Pelinka look like a fool.
Yes, Pelinka is partly culpable for this mess.

But, he clearly did not intend to trade for Westbrook.

He was in the 11th hour of negotiations for Buddy and negotiating with Derozan until LeBron decided to hold clandestine meetings at his house with players he wanted to request a trade to be his cup bearer.

Saying Rob succumbed to the whims of his two star players, at the detriment of the team?

Yup, I'm onboard with that.

But, GM's do that all the time.

Do you really believe Thanasis is the best player the Bucks could sign as a minimum contract player ?

That Damian Lee was a last resort for the Warriors?

During the Jazz broadcast the other day, I remember the announcer saying that Utah specifically brought in Eric Paschal because he's best friends with Donovan Mitchell.

For Pelinka , the biggest issue is that this was a franchise crippling move because of the size of Westbrook's contract.

as far as my Cavs go- and I am not giving up yet- and its been a very succesful season for them--- but I think youth and injuries are catching up.

I hate using the injury excuse but when basically all your guards are hurt- (first Sexton, then Rubio, now LeVert, Garland's injury, Rondo missing 2 weeks now)- you are in some trouble. They have no guards.

Maybe they should have brought in someone else during the deadline considering Rondo's age, and Garland's lingering back injury. I think they will regret that.

Its a shame a decent young team is getting sabotaged by having to start a street free agent like Goodwin and basically having no point guard play at all.
Injuries are part of the game.

Yeah, he gets some of the blame because he ultimately pulled the trigger,

But as you say, when your 2 stars get together and say We want this guy...you kind of have to do what you can to get him.

Franchise crippling in the short term, but fortunately, there is only 1 more year on it. So long term, they should be in good shape.

Did you guys see this? Apparently Kyrie would still not be able to play home games.

Harden, Curry and James have more missed NBA 3 pointers then Kobe in less time. Do we only care about missed shots when it comes to Kobe or do we keep that same energy. Let the it's a different era excuses begin......

Meanwhile Buddy Hield averaging 22ppg, 6rpg, and 5apg while shooting 49% and 38% in Indy.

Doesn't mean much. Take a look at Brissett's numbers lately. Bad team leads to inflated stats. 38% from 3 is the same as Bradley and Ellington have been all year (not just since a trade) and below Monk and Anthony.

Most of us would've preferred the Hield trade to the Westbrook trade, but the real miss was DeRozan.

agree, but that's USUALLY withn bounds of acceptable reason...

Then what is your beef? He brought AD, a ring, and has helped draw vets at minimum contracts to fill out the roster. Other than this Westbrook debacle, what?

looking at our current situation i SHOULDN'T have a "beef"? ok, let's throw out the fact that i've NEVER liked the self-centered clown and look at it from the perspective of selling our souls for #17. eventually i feel we'll get outta that mess...eventually...
