One more thought - I think any team that would want Lebron is nuts because clearly he would be a short term rental at a very high price and high risk injury -
Can't argue with this logic. Lebron for most of his stops has been a 4-year rental (he's in what? year 3 with the Lakers with one more year and likely to not be traded). He's going to be 38 this year. At this point, he's not going to carry franchises like he used to. It's become that whole approach in sports that Jimmy Johnson was famous for - does the player's value exceed their pain in the ass factor. Lebron may reach that by end of next year, where most franchises will simply prefer other alternatives.

Interesting take by Cowherd on the Lebron/Lakers issue. Basically, he says that Lebron isn't dealing from the position of strength that he's used to and that the Lakers not ceding to his demands is a sign of that. Basically, he said that Lebron needs LA more than LA needs Lebron. He pointed out that Lebron's net worth has more than doubled since he came to LA.

He also pointed out that Lebron on your team is also no longer the guaranteed trip to the finals that it was even 5 years ago. He said that 5 years ago, no team would dream of trading Lebron, but now...he thinks the Lakers should (and just might) if Lebron keeps to his current narrative.

Says that obviously, they would prefer to keep him and should basically trade or not re-sign everyone except Lebron, AD, Malik Monk and Austin Reaves. But they shouldn't be afraid to trade him they feel that's best.

And lol @Lebron and Klutch saying they didn't push for the Wall trade after Lebron said over All Star weekend that he wanted Westbrook traded. Can't have it both ways...idiots.

Danny Green coming at Simmons on his podcast.
- says Simmons won’t play or even show up on March 10th.
- says that even if he did he won’t shake hands with Sixers before or after the game
- says that Curry and Drummond don’t like Simmons and they have beef with the dude
I expect the entire team has a beef with the dude. They know what he did.

Based on what most folks have been saying and writing about all season...Pelinka and Vogel have been the 2 favorite "fall guys" for this. It's been to the point that folks have speculated that their jobs are in jeopardy.

Pelinka in particular was blasted and reported as the one who decided to nix the Hield trade for the Westbrook trade as if he just decided to do that all on his own.

I also like that Rich Paul had to reach out to Stephen A to try to deny wanting the Lakers to do the Westbrook/Wall trade and apparently Stephen A didn't exactly seem convinced.
Thinking this might be what Griff meant when he said many don't want to play with Lebron (or be GM of a team he's on)?

That's a huge problem for Lebron. It's circled back to his Miami days. But at least in Miami, he was the top player in the league heading into his prime. He just needed mentoring. Now Lebron carries himself thinking he has the same value; which is definitely not the case.

Yep, it's hard to blame him because the dude is playing at an MVP level. So it's counterintuitive (broke out the big word) to think he's not still a guy who drag a team to the finals on his own.

But, the reason he was able to do that is because he had the ability to elevate his game beyond even an MVP level and could do it for long periods of time. That's the level that he just can't reach anymore.

Then Grant Hill definitely should be in because he had 6 years of elite play before his injury
He was being pushed as Jordan’s successor when he left to play baseball.

Grant Hill is one of the biggest what Ifs along with McGrady, and Penny.

I disagree here. Ben Simmons fucked with the livelihood and goals of every person in that organization. I don’t blame Green one bit for speaking his mind. It’s just one more layer of “players have no respect for Ben Simmons the person”.

He's welcome to speak his mind. I just wouldn't like him speaking my mind for me

Well, I am not sure why the Lakers were not willing to give up an unknown draft pick in 2027 - but somewhere, the Lakers have got to quit mortgaging the future for a one year deal and at the best, Lebron is good for one more year - After that - I wouldn't offer him 47 million for the level of player he will be at and I don't believe anyone else will either.

Yeah while he could be the best player on a team for the next couple seasons (possibly) he won’t carry a team. So if he does leave LA it would be wise to accept a lower salary so a contending or young and upcoming team can afford him. Definitely possible but how low would he go…

Lebron did not carry as much gold as he pretended to be carrying - I remember he guaranteed Miami seven championships title. I knew people that believed it and asked me why I didn't - My answer was : Common sense and logic

That’s the Lakers MO since Kobe left.

Say they trade Davis for a plethora of picks. They’ll end up trading them for the next star who wants out (Trae or Doncic)

The Lakers are not a “rebuild” type of franchise.
