Harden's main problem seems to be that he brings himself into every new situation.
It depends on the player. The Lakers have gotten a return on LeBron. But the Wizards didn’t with John Wall. OKC didn’t with Russ. Like most things it will have some good results and some bad results.Question of the day. Has the super max contract worked out for the teams? Do you expect the owners to try to get changes in it?
Meh. That’s auto-pilot cliche player talk. Much ado about nothing.
Sure, the talk is far less important than the established pattern of behavior which is highlighted by the talk.Meh. That’s auto-pilot cliche player talk. Much ado about nothing.
The established pattern of behavior is that he didn’t want a rebuild in Houston so he wanted out. He gets to the Nets and he only plays 16 games with the pieces he went to the Nets for. He has buyer’s remorse and he wants to get out. He recalls the relationship he had with Morey who gets him and understands his game and what his value is. Right or wrong, this is a guy who wants to compete for a ring like many others. You can squabble with his tactics and that’s fair but at his core, the dude wants to win and that’s what motivates the pattern you speak of.Sure, the talk is far less important than the established pattern of behavior which is highlighted by the talk.

As teachers we absolutely recognize “that mindset” you speak of. I think a good number of people are “front runners” in life and when the going gets tough they fade and pucker. I agree that’s the Harden story so far but would add at 32 he still has time to rewrite that legacy but this is probably his last opportunity to do that.
The future will tell the tale, of course... so no use going round and round about it. I'm somewhat less rosy and optimistic about Harden than you are because I think Harden and Kyrie are very similar in terms of mental consistency... when things are going good than all is well, but they have a tendency to mentally check-out when things aren't going their way... agree to disagree after that.
Celtics have a lot of momentum right now and are playing great ball--- especially defensively.Yes, the Celtics shot lights-out tonight in a way that isn't sustainable...
... that being said, it's no accident that it happened against a team like the 76ers.
Philly has oodles of bad perimeter defenders getting minutes.. Maxey, Harris, Milton, Niang, Korkmaz... the '6ers better outscore teams, because line-ups featuring these guys are gonna get abused.
James Harden isn't gonna make the problem any better...
The Celtics have benefitted from an easier schedule recently... but it also has to be remarked that they've also enjoyed either full or near-full health over the recent winning streak.Celtics have a lot of momentum right now and are playing great ball--- especially defensively.
They are not going to keep up this level of play the rest of the year, but I bet they settle in not too far below.
This is what I’ve alluded to when I said I was sleeping on the Celtics. I assumed their current run was a product of a beneficial schedule stretch and catching teams short handed on top of that. There may be some of that but they’re rounding into a nice team by their own rights regardless of schedule. The Celtics have benefitted from an easier schedule recently... but it also has to be remarked that they've also enjoyed either full or near-full health over the recent winning streak.
Like every team in the NBA, the C's are a lot better when they can field a full roster.
One thing I've been pleased to see is that this version of the Celtics... (at full health)... has an identity. This is what I’ve alluded to when I said I was sleeping on the Celtics. Before I bailed on that blowout at halftime they had a mic in Doc’s huddle and that was the focus of his comments. The Celtics were out physicaling the Sixers in every aspect of the game. One thing I've been pleased to see is that this version of the Celtics... (at full health)... has an identity.
At full health, our identity is tough, versatile defense. Boston can switch almost everything in a way that very few teams in the NBA can. Our guards are big and tough... and our bigs are mobile.
In the new-school NBA we're watching... it's arguably the best attribute that a team can have on defense.
That's our bread-and-butter... that's what we can bring every night and depend on.
Offense... not so much. Not with any consistency whatsoever, anywho.
Haven't seen the in-game comments yet but thinking you may have blown a gasket?Trey “Flopper” Young
It’s sad he has to be the only voice in the NBA against China really
This view of China as some sort of evil Nazi empire that we can't ever do business with is childish and silly. Also impossible to accomplish.Willing to bet he's not very thorough in his anti-China rhetoric. How many Apple products does he own?
