I am not making excuses. Have not done that once.

But I was watching this game and didn’t even understand what the call was until they showed the replay. And I don’t think you are being honest if you are saying that you did.

I am saying I have seen calls on that level. And I have watched/participated in a lot more high school games than you have.

Want a few examples?
Of course you didn't understand what the call was. That's kind of the point.

I've seen a ton of HS, college, rec and pro games. I'd offer examples to compare but, again, I have none. also the point.

But, sure, fire away with examples if you'd like.

Agree.

Titles are the deciding factor when all else is equal.

He needs more to jump Magic and Larry, let alone LeBron, KAJ or THE GOAT, Michael Jordan.

Is KD's resume as accomplished as Kobe's? The answer is hell no. And if Kobe isn't mentioned with what I call the NBA's version of Mt. Rushmore, **5 players for each of the 5 spots on the floor**, then KD simply can't be mentioned with the best of the best.

And I think this right here kinda hurts his legacy. He now has run to two different teams. First he joined a team he couldn't beat that were the 2x defending conference champs with the 2x league MVP. Then he teamed up with two all stars in Brooklyn.

** = Gotta clear this up before anyone starts asking questions. When I said the 5 spots on the floor I don't mean pick a PG, SG, SF, PF, C. I mean just pick the 5 best players, what position they played doesn't matter.

It's why I say Embiid or Jokic or even Paul or Bron for MVP.

It's not Ja's turn yet.

All-Star starter, 1st team NBA.

He needs to replicate this success again for me to believe he should be in the MVP conversation.
Oh for sure. Ja is not in mvp consideration in my mind. Definitely MIP.

Dude is expiring and a Klutch client. So, they know they are gonna have to overpay to keep him.

I don't think the trade price would be to high.

Ps. Sexton just signed with Klutch.

My condolences.

There loss, your gain.

Malik got drafted into a tough situation.

Charlotte already had a teeny combo guard in Kemba.

He was not going to unseat peak Kemba.

After that, he got lost in the shuffle of them acquiring guard after guard.
RW for Love, Sexton and Osman!!!!

A few that come to mind: start with a mild one.

This was a road game against the number 1 team in our league:

shortly before halftime, my player inbounded the ball from the baseline and threw it backcourt to the PG. Ref called a backcourt violation which was clearly incorrect as it was a legal play. I told the ref he needed to learn the rules and he gave me a T.

Kid made both FTs and they scored to end the half when we were prepared to hold for the last shot. 4+ point swing.

When the teams came back up from break, he apologized to me. Said he checked with his supervisor and that I was correct, it should not have been a backcourt violation.

I asked if he was going to give me the points back that his “call” and subsequent T robbed my team of. He laughed and walked away.

My team ended up losing in OT.

Agree.

I'm not trying to bash or belittle KD. He's great. I'm just going by what his playing resume says up to this point of his career. And compared to some of those all time great you mentioned he doesn't stack up.

Clearly I am kidding with the last comment.
We know.

Perfect Laker pickup would be a guy you dealt, Josh Hart.

A reasonable get would be Gary Harris.

Beasley in Minny or even Patrick Beverly would be interesting.

But, you couldn't have both Bev and Westbrook on the same roster.

Pickle, y'all gonna give my boy Pat Bev a bag?

Next to Ja, Anthony Edwards has been my favorite young guy to watch this year. I love Garland, Mobley, Ball too.

But, Antman is a savage.

He's going to be so good.
I love me some pat Bev. Dude is the glue on this team.

Horrible call #2

Final minute of a back and forth game. Score is tied, other team has the ball.

Our player deflects a lazy pass. It is heading out of bounds towards the sideline where the opposing head coach is standing. Our guy is in position to secure the loose ball and seemed to have a step for a breakaway dunk to put us ahead.

Coach reaches out and grabs the ball. Maybe it was a reflex? Maybe he saw what the film saw which was that his team was on the verge of losing.

Clearly should have been a technical foul for interfering with a ball in play. Refs deliberate and call a jump ball because they weren’t sure what to do and didn’t have the balls to call the T.

Other team had the arrow, missed the shot to win in regulation but eventually won in OT.

I've actually seen coaches collide with players that ruin fast breaks because said coach is 5 feet inbounds barking at the ref. No call at all against the coaches. Always blown my mind.

I can agree that's pretty bad. If I was watching I would not be looking for reasons to excuse that ref. Wondering why you even asked for the points and didn't just find ways to understand why he made the call knowing how hard his job is?

Would also say situation last night a little different as I suspect the refs did know the rules and a tech and counting a shot that didn't count should not happen.

Horrible call #3

My favorite.

20 seconds into the game, my point guard gets an in bounds pass against a light press. He dribbled once and threw a cross court pass to a teammate.

Ref calls 10 second violation when it was actually like 2 and a half seconds.

I said: “what? That wasn’t even close!”

Instant T with no warning.

I go to the end of the bench and drop my clipboard from about a foot onto a chair. Ref gives me a second T and I am ejected.

Literally on the first possession of the game.

Another bad one. Once again, did you make excuses for those refs when you were talking to your team after the game?

also a little different for same reason as last one.....the refs know that awarding a basket on a fake shot is not within the rules and the guy who called it OOB had to know.
