THT is 90th percentile for standing reach (wingspan) for his height. He's not the same skillset as Grant, more of a poor man's Iguodala as upside, but even that isn't really a good match. THT is more of a slasher than a distributor, but has played out of position at the point with the Lakers often.

I agree that the fit isn't good for Detroit though. However, any involvement in trade rumors with the Lakers at $10M plus more or less has to start with THT and whether or not the Lakers have other smaller pieces to interest the team in question.

Monk is an interesting case, given the Lakers' limits in retaining him. Could a Monk/THT package bring back enough to make sense for LA? Who would they target with such a package?

Monk was a fantastic get for his price for LA. I can only assume he did it for the opportunity at a ring and to get a shot at a big contract by being an impact guy in LA.

Either way I respect his confidence.

Yea detroit has Diallo coming along who is very similar in that he plays bigger than his height and is a mediocre 3 pt shooter but unreal athlete.

Dude had 13 boards yesterday.

Since Monk has no Bird Rights he really isnt worth a whole lot to a rebuilding team. If they wanted him- and had the cap space to sign him- they could just sign him outright after the season.

Kid is averaging almost 26ppg and like 11rpg the last 11 games. But, he is replacement player value. LOL.

He was a replacement level player his last year in LA.

Taking what people said about him last year in context of his new production in a new role is not fair at all.

His trade value was pretty low this past summer.

Yeah, basically the Lakers would have to find a team that wanted him bad enough to do a deal now and not risk losing him to another team in the off-season. I doubt there is such a team.

I wonder what kind of adjustment Monk made to go from a 30 percent guy to 40 from 3. 2 years now.

Impressive nonetheless

Wow I just looked at the cavaliers record and there surprisingly 27-18. I always thought they were done once James left. I guess I need to start following more teams then just the Knicks and nets

This is why I have been saying the Lakers should just get out of the trade market for awhile and live with their present roster no matter where it leads them this year. There really isn't a market for Westbrook, Jordon, Bazemore, and THT. If the Lakers want Monk (and they probably do), like Wiggy suggested, just sign him outright after the season and continue the rebuilding for a better scenario going forward. THT isn't that good of a player to attract attention from other clubs on his merits and fit as TJF12 has mentioned several times. The real situation should be as I have already stated. The Lakers will be better off for the future if they do.

He has been a shooter all his life.

Just drastically underachieved his first couple years in the league.

This is the player people thought Monk would be when he was drafted.

maybe 3 years from now. lol.

For Miami though-

if they dont get something done quick- Jimmy and Kyle are gonna have to wheelchair down the court while making a combined 80 mill a year!

if the Heat could go back- do you still think they give Duncan all that money? looks like he has been losing some playing time of late.

Few on NBA TV, maybe. I get it, though...this was not expected when schedule came out.

Nobody expected the Cavs to have a season like this. Hope they can keep on keepin' on. They're a fun team to watch.

University of Northern Colorado? That can't be right. Been in CO. too long. They call N. Colorado UNC around here. There's only one UNC. It's in Chapel Hill.

The Cavs are the surprise of the league this season. And right now Bickerstaff should be the front runner for COY.
