And with that, I still don't understand the reasoning for expanding the playoffs to 8 teams. Everyone knew Bama and UGA were the best teams this season. And that's usually the case every year (2-3 teams that stand out amongst the rest).

8 minimum at least, should be more. Prove it through an actual playoff system rather than picking the teams you want in the title game damn near. FCS does it right

What would change though? If you seeded Bama and UGA #1 and #2, the way the brackets would be structured, both wouldn't meet until the title game. Who this year is taking down either team? It'd be more of the same.
