I still laugh whenever you rip Buss but make every excuse in the world for Pelinka it seems.

I laugh at the fact that you can't seem to discern the difference between the 2 of them.

But they have had opportunities with max money available to bring in other max guys from outside the organization. Odd you wont answer. Let me try....was it shaq?

Shaq, Kobe, Pau Gasol, Lebron James and Anthony Davis have all chosen the Lakers.

I'd put Pelinka right over the incompetent GM's. In his defense- he won a title- albiet in "the Freak Show"

To go against him- having LeBron used to be an automatic ticket to the Finals- and it looks like 3 out of the 4 years LeBron is there/will be there, they have (i) missed the playoffs, (ii) bounced first round, and (iii) this year does not look promising to say the least. Right now- if they dont get a 4 or 5 seed- id bet on them being bounced first round. If they get a 4 or 5 seed they will prob win 1 series.

Pelinka's last year and half has been BAD.
I still wouldn't bet against a healthy Lebron in the playoffs.....unless it didn't come with a healthy AD again.

I do know there's a difference. Both made awful moves but in completely different ways and times for the Lakers. One had the benefit of joining the team with cap room and Lebron wanting to come aboard.

I know the difference between Jimmy B. & Rob P.

One is a dumbbell from meeechegan that once told the team a lie about Kobe having dinner with Heath Ledger after he had OD'd. Really odd story to make up.

And the other had no idea what he was doing when he was in charge of the Lakers and has his own one of kind special limo.

Shaq, Kobe, Pau Gasol, Lebron James and Anthony Davis have all chosen the Lakers.
Try again.......bring in max guys (obviously meant FAs) from OTHER organizations. Already been established we are talking without Lebron factor so take Lebron and AD out, along with all but Shaq.

so I was right.

And the other had cap room and chose to use it on Mozgov and Deng that was still hampering them when Pelinka and Magic took over.

Then Pelinka was able to create the cap room that got them Lebron.

Cool...not about Cleveland. It's about how quickly LA can get back to being a contender and your faith in them. But since you keep bringing up Cleveland, last rebuild they made the playoffs and were a contender by year 5 (quicker than LA's last rebuild). This one with no Lebron looks like we can make playoffs in year 4. Title contender? we'll see.

I don’t care how quickly it happens man.

Just that we all know it WILL happen at some point.

Maybe it takes 5 years, maybe 10, maybe 20.

No such guarantees in those tier 3 markets because there just aren’t as many options to build a contending caliber core.

I'll take the guy who lied about Kobe.

No, you were wrong. As I pointed out, when a team re-signs their own max level FA's, they typically don't have cap space to go after other teams max level FA's.

And no, we're not limiting the discussion to without Lebron or AD.

Ok, but they have had times where they did have enough.....and since Shaq have not brought one in not named Lebron. This is not debatable.

Again, as we continue to go back and forth on this (both of us, with tlance, as well) I'd appreciate a warning before getting booted for, basically, not agreeing with you and offering logic, facts and reason to support my comments.

Thanks.

2 things

1. We're not changing the discussion to fit some bullshit way you want to frame things to try to salvage a l;ost point.

2. You know that at this point you are doing your usual arguing minutiae to try to continue an argument for page after page...so no, there will be no warning.

Don't feel like reading through a bunch of comments. Is this right now about players the Lakers have brought in not named LeBron? If so I'll finish was I was going to say if I got this topic right.

This will be my last comment on the matter with you. I asked long ago what FAs the Lakers have brought in from outside the organization not named Lebron, and who was the last one. Seems the answer is Shaq. Thanks.

I explained what they have done. You just dont like that it disproves the point you thought you had.

Okay gotta name for you. This fella was Robin to Kobe's Batman and is a future HOF lock.

Pau Gasol
He was acquired in a trade, not FA. Otherwise we could include AD, as well.
