He will be good enough to play and be productive at 45 barring major injury. He is that much of a physical freak.

But what role is willing to take?

If he is willing to be a teacher and play a bit more of a backseat, 30 minutes of 38-40 year old LeBron will still probably be better than any other FA Cleveland is likely to get.

I think there is more upside than downside risk for Cleveland.
You hit the main point and that’s what I was thinking about, he doesn’t seem like the guy that is going to be a 4th or 5th option and take less money. He can certainly play until he is 39 or 40 without doing that but 43-44, a highly doubt it. Plus taking that lower role is he willing to take less money, again I don’t see him being that guy. I doubt he even wants to play with his son but I think he wants to be in the league while his son is in the league, just another feat crossed off. He will most likely retire being a 1st or 2nd option, I could even see him as a 3rd option but that seems like the limit imo

This is stupid talk, Its nothing for Lebron to make himself look bad but he looks beyond bad if he goes running back to Cleveland again.

It really doesn’t man.

Post prime most vets go some where they can win.

The only difference is that it will be the first time LeBron won’t be the dominant #1 when he goes somewhere.

Cleveland is his home. Which is why it is wild to see people like Wiggy bash him. Ironically, if he does go back to Cleveland, the greatest gift he ever gave them was leaving twice to allow them to build talent.

Everyone knows the next place he signs will be a team that he believes can contend. Going somewhere like Cleveland that would need a major nudge to get there looks a hell of a lot better than signing somewhere that has a made roster.

Another great gift he gave Cleveland was pulling off the single biggest Finals upset of all time.

I mean, yes.

But that doesn’t happen if he doesn’t leave for Miami.

The chicken or the egg I guess.

The Bulls are the only team who got to pause. Everyone else dealing with covid forced to play with several players out.

Here's another what if. What if Gilbert did a better job getting LeBron some talent his first time around, maybe he doesn't go to Miami if he didn't have to carry a bad roster for multiple seasons?

Anyone mention yet that Trae Young has now tested positive?

NBA need to make adjustments to their protocol as the NFL did ASAP or else this is going to be a shit show. This will be the real asterisk season if the don't.

Did they update their protocols like the NFL?
