Not sure why Miami would want to contribute to Nets being the 9 or 10 seed. Miami would rather avoid Nets in round 1 and instead play Hawks or Cavs or Hornets

Wonder if the Nets will just flip a switch come playoff time? Defense wins championships. Not trying out outscore the opponent.

Heard yesterday the last team to win it all that was outside of the top 10 in D were the '01 Lakers.

KD & Kyrie are a helluva 1-2 punch. But they aren't Shaq & Kobe.

It'll be interesting when (or if) Simmons finally gets back on the court. But even if he returns because he hasn't played a game in what about a year? I don't see him being that x-factor that will get the Nets to the ultimate prize this season.

The Athletic today was saying Giannis was its latest MVP pick but called the race between the top 3 extremely close and said all are worthy. I tend to agree, but Jokic just set a statistical mark no one has reached before, and if Embiid wins the scoring title, that will also be a big stat to tout. It's going to be controversial no matter who wins it. I personally don't care like I said earlier in the thread, but I think Embiid clearly wants it and will be devastated if he loses it despite finally playing a full season.

Embiid's gone for 25 & 10 in 10 straight games. And will obviously lead the league in scoring now.

Jokic is the only player in top 10 in pts, rebs, asts & is the first player to have 2,000 pts, 1,000 rebs & 500 asts in a season.

Wouldn't be surprised if this is the closest MVP race of all time.

Who wants less basketball ....WTF???

Do you want more games with stars sitting out regularly?

Of fewer games with stars playing.

If the average star is sitting 8-10 games for load management, then you shouldn’t be playing an 82 game season.

Embiid wins scoring title now. LeBron is still eligible but you divide his points by 58 games instead of the 56 he played and his average (for scoring title purposes) goes below 30 PPG.
Lebron could still play the last 2 games

Perhaps it’s the sitting of games that should be addressed?

How?

It is in the teams’ best interest to rest stars occasionally throughout the season.

Importance of the Regular season pales in comparison to the playoffs. Teams are always going to be incentivized to get there with their stars in peak form.

Presti was burned by the notorious Mike Muscala 3 that cost them the first that became Maxey. He is going to triple tank now! He may suit up himself.

Should start with okc consistently sitting out their top guys for 20 plus games
Lol, hasn’t been much of a concern with the 2nd most wins in the league in the decade of the 2010s. I expect this to be the last tank season, but we will see I guess.

Yeah.

This.

Realistically how?

Too much gray area around minor injuries.

Very easy to exaggerate an injury and use it as a reason to sit a guy capable of playing.

Teams would just learn to get around any rule made.

This statement makes absolutely no sense lol. Past seasons have nothing to do with the tanking going on now.

You are probably the only one it doesn’t make sense to. That’s ok though.
