Valid question. They just don't know the answer yet on how long. They do know that the test subject that were given the vaccine back in June still have the antibodies. Just not sure how long they will last as they have not test cases that are older than that.

It is fair to expect that this will most likely be a vaccine you have to take yearly, like the flu shot.
