Since I'm going through college football withdrawals, I figured I'd share this:

Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Extend A Few More 2020 Offers

It could be the bias in me speaking, but I do feel that all of our current commits are very underrated by recruiting agencies.

I'm not a scout, but I waste a lot of my free time watching film and reading about football but I really love what I've seen and read about Garbers, Redman and Racanelli. Ethan Garbers (QB) looks like a stronger armed version of Jake Browning. Mark Redman's skill set reminds me a lot of T.J. Hockenson, which would be a great fit for our offense. He's a great blocker with the ability to use his size and length to get open. Lastly, I've heard a lot of great things about Sawyer Racanelli. Here is what Brandon Huffman had to say about him:

“He’s actually the highest-rated three-star in the state of Washington, and I think he’s going to have a very good chance to end up being a four-star,” 247Sports national editor Brandon Huffman told The Times this week. “I love him. I’m on record already saying he’s probably already my favorite football player in this class in the state of Washington. The way I waxed poetic about (2019 UW linebacker signee) Josh Calvert last year, that’s how I feel about Racanelli.”

I'm curious as to where he fits with UW. Despite his eye popping stats as a receiver, I think he might be a better fit on the defensive side of the ball. To me he looks like a guy who would make a great strong safety.

I've always believed that Petersen has a great eye for talent and gets the best out of his players. Irrespective of how these guys are ranked, I like the signees so far.

Recruiting Roundup: Husky Targets Narrow Their Lists & Schedule Official Visits

Roger Rosengarten, Valor Christian, Offensive Tackle

Narrowed his list to UW and Oregon. He plans on committing after his official visits which will take place the next couple of weekends. Luckily UW is after Oregon. I don't know why, but I feel like that offers us an advantage.

Anyone know why the Huskies haven't offered D.J. Rogers yet? 247 composite ranking has him ranked as the 4th best TE in the class, and he's a top 300 player who plays at Eastside Catholic. Kind of confusing considering the Huskies are looking for 2 TEs in this class and recently extended an offer to an out of state TE.

I haven't heard anything of yet but I believe they have one TE coming in next year and have offered another.

Yeah they have a commit from Mark Redman who I like a lot, but they have offers out to the following two players who aren't nearly as highly rated as Rodgers, which is a bit confusing:

Kole Taylor, Central, Tight End

Blake Smith, Southlake Carroll, Tight End

I have to wonder if there is some kind of red flag because you'd think the Huskies would extend an offer to an in-state blue-chip TE when they're looking to add two this class.

I wouldn't shit on him yet since he looks like a possible UW commit. Everything I've heard indicates that it would be between us and the Aggies (his dad's school).

He's going to have some stiff competition at Ohio State, but with his ego he probably thinks he's the best player in the country at any position. In addition to Fleming, they also have another 4 star WR recruit for 2020 who 247 has ranked as the #157 player in the nation.

Let's not forget that in 2019 the Buckeyes signed the #2 WR in the nation and another WR who is rated higher than Scott (.9621 in comparison to Scott's .9575).

I understand the appeal of Ohio State, but given that competition at WR and the fact that the Buckeyes have only had one 1,000 yard receiver since 2003, he probably won't be the star he hopes he'll be.

Also for what it's worth, he was never offered by UW. Don't know if that would've changed things though.

I hate to be a Debbie downer, but so far it doesn't look like UW is pushing all that hard on legit blue chippers and this class could be a bit disappointing compared to the 2019 and 2018 classes. I trust the program in identifying and developing players, but the guys they've been pushing for aren't all heralded.

It's obviously still very early, but this class could be remembered for the lack of commitments from a strong in-state class.

Right now there are six four-star high school players in-state and this is how it looks (rankings are by 247):

1. Sav'ell Smalls (OLB): Already ruled out UW.
2. Gee Scott Jr (WR): Committed to Ohio State.
3. Sam Adams II (HB): Insiders consider him a UW lean, but his dad played at Texas A&M and it's hard to rule the Aggies or other big programs out.
4. Geirean Hatchett (OG): Probably will sign with UW.
5. D.J. Rogers (TE): Doesn't have a UW offer and the Huskies have one TE committed and are hosting another this week.
6. Ayden Hector (DB): He has a UW offer, but his dad played at USC and there doesn't seem to be any definitive estimation as to where he will sign.

I have to assume the realistic best case scenario is that the Huskies sign Adams, Hatchett and Hector. If Rogers doesn't have an offer yet, I have to speculate that he will not receive an offer at all. Dawgs are going to have to recruit really well out of state and really hit on some gems.

Hopefully the crystal ball is wrong, but I heard he really loved UT.

Aside from that and the fact that he was a Tacoma native, I don't know anything else about his recruiting and have my fingers crossed that Jimmy Lake can work his magic.

If Kelee Ringo's goal is the NFL - which is probably a safe assumption for a guy as highly rated as him - UT hasn't done a great job producing high draft picks at DB in recent years. Last time the Longhorns had a DB drafted above the 5th round was in 2013 with Kenny Vaccaro and only 3 DBs were even drafted between 2014-2019.

Jimmy Lake's success producing NFL DBs should be a strong selling point against UT.

Pretty sure he was a fairly recent offer as well, that might make me suspect UW doesn't like their chances with Ringo.
