I get that Minny wants to get younger, but to do a guy who has essentially been your club for a decade and a half like that is rough.

And you have to figure he doesn't want to retire, otherwise he could have just gone ahead and announced it like that. At the very least, just let him get to UFA and go from there. But this is basically "LOL we don't want this guy no more" and that's pretty harsh.

Surprising Team Interested in Oilers Jesse Puljujarvi

According to Elliotte Friedman, an interesting team might have made a couple calls to the Edmonton Oilers about forward Jesse Puljujarvi.

Friedman explained: “I had someone text me this morning and say, ‘there’s some names out there that you guys haven’t even considered.’” He added, “Columbus Blue Jackets were one team that had interest in Jesse Puljujarvi.”
