Harvick's kinda grown on me in the last few years, and IMO its cool to see guys his age pile on wins late in career..............................

but then he just basically dumps jimmie with the ole "ahh just ran out of room, aww shucks too bad" excuse

Keselowski with the ole "just nothing i can do, was getting pushed" excuse on the Chase wreck, then replays showing stenhouse was nowhere near him

Harvick didn't intentionally dump Jimmie. Made an aggressive move, and Jimmie definitely came down, shit happens. Just because you're retiring and haven't won in a while doesn't get you special treatment.

having said that, Chase needs to get a little better at plate races, i know he won this race last year, but often times he doesnt look like he knows what lane to be in.......he ran in the back for a lot of todays race, then got up front due to some strategy, and put himself in a spot where the penske guys can fuck him over

ever since his win at dega last year, hes looked a little lost at Daytona night, the fall talladega race, the 500 this year, and now today. Fast car for most part, but some inexperience still showing even with some solid results

When Harvick took over Big E's ride it seemed opportunistic.

But he for sure knows how to win.

He has a strong argument for being top 10 all time. 51 wins, one official championship, would be 3 without any Chase or playoffs.

Top 20 of all time yes to Kevin Harvick. Top 10 I would argue with you @Chewbaccer

Personally, I’d have him above all the 50’s drivers, but I’m curious why Tim Flock and Buck Baker make the list, but Herb Thomas doesn’t?

My top 10 would probably go something like:

1. David Pearson
2. Richard Petty
3. Jeff Gordon(I hated him, but trying to be objective)
4. Dale Sr
5. Jimmie Johnson
6. DW.
7. Cale Yarborough
8. Kyle Busch(Hate him, but fully expect him to be in the top 3 by the time he retires)
9. Bobby Allison
10. Kevin Harvick

Just going off the top of my head, drivers that are/were as good or better then Harvick. Figured I had enough where I was. There was no particular order to my list.

I think you’re short selling Harvick. 51 wins is a lot, and most of his career he was with RCR, and look what happened to him and look what happened to RCR as soon as he left. 3 total wins since left, one by fuel mileage, one by pit strategy, one where Austin Dillon wrecked Almirola on the last lap of the Daytona 500.

Harvick has 51 wins, 212 top 5, and 372 top 10s in 695 races
Lee Petty has 54 wins, 231 tops 5s, and 332 top10s in 427 races.

Tim Flock 39-102-129 in 187 races
Jeff Gordon first 189 races 41-100-123

Now you have to give a little leeway to the numbers of the fifties because all drivers did not go to all races.

Not really short selling him by saying he is a top 20 driver of all time. Just splitting the hairs of top 10 all time.

They weren’t going all races, which means they weren’t facing the best of their competition every race either, and they had tons of races that were less than 100 miles in length, and we’re going significantly slower.

To be fair, I probably don’t give the 50’s drivers a fair shake, and I probably don’t give 1800’s and dead ball era baseball players, and pre Super Bowl football players enough credit either.

I give credit to the modern era figures in all sports. I think had Harvick came up with Hendrick or Gibbs instead of RCR, he’d have better numbers to show, but he has great numbers as it is

Personally I’d have him in mine, but he has an argument to not be too.

I just wonder what his win total would look like if he went with Stewart Haas from the beginning instead of Newman.

Stewart haas sucked in the beginning.
All the moves were for improving Stewart's team. Stewart had actually apologized to Ryan for not giving him a championship caliber team. Danica got there & brought more sponsorship dollars. When Harvick was brought in was when they revamped the teams completely from scratch. I dont think harvick would have came over if they stayed the same. Could have even been a demand of his. Harvick went to SHR at a perfect time to do so.
but if harvick would have started at HMS or JGR or a team like that.
His #'s would be up there with DW & Allisons.
