Nope. I think that I am reading a lot into 20 years of primarily losing seasons, expansion of duties for a guy who has a horrible history & disdain for the fans, a horrible secondary, subpar receiving core, major concerns at TE due to age & injuries, similar concerns at OL, huge coaching concerns & basically no faith in the QB position. Other than that everything is great.

How in the hell is that related to the media bashing Snyder & the Redskins?

Agree on this. Would love to see this team prove myself & others wrong & start building a good team. I feel very, very confident that this won't happen.

the FO is a Mess but the team itself has some good young talent

i think the press is overboard on some things and on target on others

getting the qb situation addressed will be a huge step

Of course 2019 will be a losing season. We have more than 20 million of our cap going to a guy that won’t be playing, and his position is the costliest in football for a reason.

Yep - if the FO tried to operate in the mold of other successful teams they would look towards 2020 & beyond. As you have suggested elsewhere - I would consider moving certain key players & clearing cap space beyond next season regardless of what they get in return (if anything).

I would look at players like Kerrigan & Williams & ask "Can they be major contributors in 2020? 2021?". If the answer is no or questionable then you need to consider moving on from them. The only objective long term that matters for any team is winning the SB. If all a team cares about is just making the playoffs periodically (like the Skins appear to do) - well - that is a losing strategy.

It may be tough to watch a true rebuilding team for a season or two, but it may be the only way to obtain the ultimate prize. Having said that - again - this team will look for the short term fix & the goal of getting to a SB will be a pipedream for many, many years.

I like everything you said here except “it may be tough to watch a true rebuilding.” I think it would be far easier to watch because it would provide hope. And hope is something I don’t believe any of us truly have regarding this team today.

No - I hear you. However in the moment it can be tough. Also - just like you see here - you are also going to have some fans who want everything rt away. However again I am w/ you on this.

Take this season as an example. Even if they finished in exactly the same manner (but were built different by a solid FO) you could come away thinking "OK - a disappointing season w/ injuries & a losing record, but the Skins have youth, a solid plan, good players in key areas & something to build from". Obviously that is far from the case for now (for the most part).

Why do folks keep mentioning 2021 for Kerrigan and Williams? Both are FAs in 2021.

Here's how it works, If someone doesn't like something then it must be a flaw in the media and not that person's ability to reason. See if the media merely reports something, I call it doing their jobs, someone, somewhere is not going to like the report, so it becomes bias, discriminatory reporting or worse yellow journalism. It is interesting how putting things in proper perspective is being lost in all of this screaming, pointing fingers at one another and our necessary institutions has become the norm.

Why in hell would this organization be concerned with today or next year? In truth I would be bothered if Dan Snyder wasn't looking long term and all that comes with doing business then.

If anyone who is a fan/ follower/supporter of this team now admitted it, we are all already sold on this team and our support has already been taken into account. Snyder's concerns aren't centered on us anymore, but rather who, and to what degree, any future fans will support his franchise.

If this means that no matter what they can't get cap relief for either over the next several years than fine - keep both unless you can get really good picks in a trade (not likely). However - regardless of their actual status for 2021 - if you can significant cap relief either next year or the following then you have to consider this.

I have not researched this enough. You tell me - if the Skins get rid of either or both do they realize significant cap relief over the next few seasons? Folks need to look past just next season & also remove their emotions from the equation. Again - solid organizations like the Pats & Eagles make these types of moves all of the time & it usually works out well.

Again - having said this it doesn't matter since we are not the ones making these decisions, & this organization always seems to favor window dressing & focusing only on one season at a time. Also - please don't take this as an insult to either Kerrigan or Williams. I love both of them & would not be disappointed if they continue to contribute to the Redskins for many years to come. Just looking at this as a business decision.

Only one real way to have fans support the team - win on a regular basis. Having 2 10 win seasons during your 20 year tenure is not going to get it done (ditto for being one of the few NFC teams to not make the Conf. Championship during this time). Snyder would be an idiot not to realize this. He most likely does, but his damn ego gets in the way & causes him to try to do it his way which has proven time and again not to work.

BTW - Business 101 - an organization has to focus on all stakeholders (including customers) to do well - at least long term. Snyder has to realize this.

The point of my post is neither is under contract after 2020. If you can realize something good from trading one or both then go for it. I keep asking the same question, what are gaining that makes them worth trading? You would be creating two more holes on the team. If you have a plan that will at least balance the scales then go for it. If the plan is to create cap room to buy FAs which the team has been historically bad at then I am not for moving them.

I have stated on several occasions the way to try to win or play pretty well is do build the D right now. We have 4 good young players on the DL, Kerrigan, SDH and R. Foster at LBer. Draft an outside guy that can get more than 4 sacks a year and the team might have a D good enough to help win some games.

We have so many questions on offense I have no clue what they are going to do.
