Playoff ratings down over 15%
28 of 32 similarly scheduled game slots were down.

The Warriors are still here. Boston, Houston, Toronto are all still more or less the same teams.
Even New York and its 20 million viewing eyeballs finally put a team in..... It made zero diffrence.

The LEBRON factor is real.

Hate him or Love him, he makes the playoffs must-see TV.
We will miss the hell out of him when he hangs them up for good.

Monty to Suns...I'd assume Lue to Lakers then. I thought Lue was the best, atleast of the candidates that were mentioned for us

Yeah, I would have preferred Monty, but Lue is probably the best person for the job right now because Lebron will listen to him.

You'd think so but I wouldn't rule out them doing something dumb like hiring Jason Kidd

More coaching news

A little surprising since the Wolves were not good. But he's young and the players did seem to like him so I suppose there's no harm done in giving it another year.

YOU SHUT YOUR DIRTY WHORE MOUTH RIGHT NOW!!

I don't get the hatred for Kidd. At bare minimum, he would help Lonzo Ball immensely. He's improved the teams he has coached. He signed with Nets in for the '13/'14 season, and they reached the second round of the playoffs. He was then traded to the Bucks, and they improved from 15-67 to 41-41. The team stagnated around .500 for a while as Kidd missed a lot of time for surgery one year. He was fired midway through a season at 23-22, and the Bucks finished at 44-38.

He's not a stellar candidate, but none of these guys appear to be. Wish they would consider Becky Hammon.

I'd be interested to know if the ratings drop was substantially lower in the Western conference games as well.

Mostly across the board.

Lebron is a good lead in. He holds the audience afterwards in later games out west after LBJ is done playing early.

And they also market the other games, relentlessly during LBJ james, that have no immediate following on the same day.

A similar thing happened in 1994 and 1999....... And it was clear what happened in those years as well.

I don't blame you but thinking best first HC gig for her would not be with Lebron. You know she'll be blamed for anything that goes wrong and wouldn't get the credit if things go well.

Better to take on the task of bringing the Clippers to a championship organization than the Knicks.

The Clippers have a quality coach as well as Jerry West in place to guide the organization. The Knicks.....well, they're the Knicks.

I think Becky Hammon could be a great coach and I look forward to seeing her get her shot one day.

But you are insane if you think coaching LeBron James in LA is a good fit for her.

She already will have a difficult road if she does get the chance to be the first female head coach in a major professional men's league. Now you want to give her one of the most difficult players in the NBA to coach?

I want Hammon to have a chance to be successful.

Of course, and that's why she won't be interested. No-win situation. It's all Lebron or you get blamed for failing. See Lue, Tyronn....
