You guys just picked up a friend of the family in the Rule 5. My in laws are really good friends with Michael Rucker's parents. I'm glad he's going to get a shot with you guys!

The good thing about the O's is, is if you're a rule v guy and get selected by the Orioles, you're going to get a good shot at making and staying on the roster. It's almost like a win win for everyone. If he works out, great, if he doesn't, he will know what he needs to work on when he gets back into the minors and make himself a better candidate to make the roster later this season or next season. I wish him the best of luck. You guys just picked up a friend of the family in the Rule 5. My in laws are really good friends with Michael Rucker's parents. That’s the type of signing I expect right now. Cheap, one year roster fillers that’ll give the players in the minors more time to develop.
Trying to stock the farm with high draft picks until they're ready is my assumption. No minor league season last year really hurt the timetable of being competitive at the major league level, along with having to dump Frederick as an affiliate.WTH is this organization doing? Anything to try and compete?
It'll probably be at least a couple of years I believe. I think a lot of the talent that's highly rated is going to be in either Double A Bowie or High A Aberdeen.Just want to be competitive again.
