Lol

When do the Rockets hang their pre-season championship banner? Before the first regular seaskn game? Or do they have to wait until next seasons first pre-season game?

Preseason is usually a pretty good indicator of how a team is going to use a new player. I get it. You hate Russ so no need to continue this conversation.

When you make the claim that a player who was getting about 21 shots per game in the playoffs wasn't getting the ball enough, there is no need to carry that conversation on.

I'll agree to disagree. See you in April when the Rockets are around 55 wins and top 2 in their conference.

I like Jaylen, I really do, and he's got a ton of upside, but $29m a year for someone who's averaged 11ppg over the last three years?

Hey don't get me wrong, the Celtics did the absolute right thing signing him up long term but for $115m?!?
Yeah... it's on the high side. I don't disagree.

But it's not "crazy" high. More like Jaylen just got the better end of it.

Jaylen needs to play up to the contract for it to be righteous... no doubt.

We'll see what the future holds.

I hope (for the Celtics sake) that contract doesn't hinder the cap in a few years time.

Isn't Tatum eligible for an extension next year?

It all comes down to Brown and how he plays.

If he takes the next step, the deal isn't crazy and won't be a negative.

If he stays at where he's at... it'll hurt.

If JB plays well, his contract is a potential asset in the future... he could be an excellent trade chip if a bonafide star becomes available.

Yep. No doubt the C's pay Tatum max type money if he progresses.

I concur.

Some "if's" at play... but if Hayward rebounds, and if Tatum and JB both show growth/improvement... this team is gonna make waves in the East.

None of those above "if's" are crazy.

I think Kemba is going to replace most of Kyrie's production without his headaches.

The questions are the front court, as we've discussed. The Cs have plenty of wing defenders. But they are going to really struggle in the paint.

So Zion is out 6-8 weeks? ESPN and TNT can't be too happy with that.

@Mecca was about to comment on your 'Clippers need a big' comment until I saw you edited it, lol

I almost kinda expected them go go after Joakim Noah

It likely won't be a major problem until the playoffs... and the C's have to play either Milwaukee or Philly.

In the regular season, they'll be fine I think. I like Theis at starting center with a committee behind him... most teams don't post up and work from the paint anymore.

Theis is actually a very solid team defender.

As for playoff time and without factoring in any moves... the hope has to be that Robert Williams makes significant progress over the course of this season.

They had a meeting set up.

But, it got cancelled.

I think they are saving the spot for the Iggy sweepstakes.

Woj already suggested that if Iggy were to become available he'd probably go to one of the LA teams.

I don't see anyone trading for him though. I don't know how much longer he can wait to be bought out either.

Dude, what's your take on Walton Jr.?

He had a good Preseason.

But, I'm slightly surprised that he made the Clippers roster when we so desperately need a big.

He's non guaranteed. So, he's definitely getting cut it Iggy wants to come.

Well it's a pretty huge step up for Theis. He went from 3rd on the depth chart to the starter. And the Celtics are going to be undersized at the 4 as well.

They are going to be a pretty good team still but I think they are going to need to make a move to address this.
