So now they're talking about 100,000 people dying from this.

The total is at 2,400 now.

All this tells me is that social distancing and all the other BS doesn't really work if you see nearly another 98,000 Americans dying while most states are under shutdown
Trump says if just 2 mill die.....we're winning. Pretty sure that was the number he used.

It’s not working because people are still outdoors spreading that shit.

My husband and I have decided that once a week one of us goes grocery shopping. Yesterday was my turn. I haven’t been out of our home in almost 10 days and I was horrified to see the roads were just as busy as usual. I saw groups of teens hanging out and whole families were going out shopping for non-essential shit.

People aren't taking this serious enough and it's going to kill thousands of people just because they can't be fucked to stay holed in for a couple of months.

It's not like that at all in San Francisco. People here are all on board and that may explain why so far CA is doing much better than most of the country

And WA is pretty bad....numbers wise.

If the Worldometer numbers are to be believed, today was a very good day, less deaths and new cases in the US compared to yesterday.

It's one day but the last few days have shown a flattening curve, the growth rate is decelerating.

Who knows what it means long term but this is exactly what we are trying to make happen with all the measures we are taking.

United States Coronavirus: 142,004 Cases and 2,484 Deaths - Worldometer

It's numbers, believe what you want.

These are overnight numbers. Not the up to date numbers. I know that because i'm in NY/NJ. Both governors listed those numbers at their daily press conference which took place around 1 PM EST. Hard to believe not a single person from those 2 states passed away in the last 9+ hours

No, Worldometer collects numbers all day, and their cutoff is 12:00 midnight GMT (which is 7PM EST I think), and that's what they show for that day.

Lower numbers are better than higher.

Pretty sure they get their numbers from the daily press conference from all the governors
