No narrative needs to be changed. The point is IF he accepted their offer he would be their coach. Of course they are not mentioning him now. They don't need a coach.

But when they did......

Other teams need coaches. How come his name isn’t being mentioned in NY?

IF....:L

Less money, less control of the team.

All because he thought he deserved more
great....doesn't take away the fact your team wanted him. More than the guy they hired. Not really debatable so I wont with you anymore. But go ahead and get the last word on this one.

Are you thinking the NBA was going to change the CBA had Lue been hired as coach?
They still had the Kawhi money slot.

Love would have been possible.

But, they wouldn't have been able to sign Danny and the other players for much more than the league minimum.

How are you even considering this a debate when you’re changing the narrative.

Yes, the Lakers wanted him

Yes, I’m glad he didn’t become their coach

Yes I think he’s overrated

Yes Frank Vogel is probably doing a better job than Lue would

So what the hell is your point other than to have a useless argument purely because you can’t read properly?

Which would have been a problem

Good point. Thinking, though, if they wanted Love it would have been Lebron fueled so could have gone after Love either way. In addition, still would not have much to offer Cavs after the AD deal

Cleveland Cavs update:

They now have 1 player averaging over 3 assists per game. Darius Garland is at 3.6. Next highest is Kevin Love at 2.9. Collin Sexton at 2.2 in case anyone is wondering.

He did deserve it.

All he asked for is the exact same contract length that was given to a Rookie head coach, Luke Walton.

Ok, Jeanie Buss was right.

Kawhi used the Lakers for leverage.

IT STARTED INNOCENTLY enough, with George calling Leonard — whom he’d known since their high school days in Southern California — a few days after the Raptors won the championship. “It was congratulating him on winning,” George says. “That’s how it started … then it took on a life of its own.” Once the two Southern California boys began talking, “it just trickled from there,” George says.

There were countless text messages and phone calls and then two in-person meetings at Drake’s house in Hidden Hills, California. (Drake had befriended Leonard during his season in Toronto and let Leonard — who lives in San Diego — stay there when he was in Los Angeles for free-agent meetings.) By July 1, they had decided to put their plan in motion: Leonard told the Clippers that he was interested in playing for them but only if they could improve their roster by adding an All-Star-caliber player like George. The next day, Leonard met with George in Los Angeles. Shortly after their meeting, George’s agent placed a call to Thunder president Sam Presti, asking if he would look for a trade to help George and Leonard play together.

Why Paul George came to L.A.: 'It was a lot deeper than basketball'

Luke Walton got another head coaching job immediately after the Lakers decided to part ways with him. Lue, not so much.

We all know what Lue has been to this point; a yes man for Lebron. With the questionable minds doing the hiring, Lue seemed like a shoo-in choice to keep Lebron placated. Luckily for Laker fans, Lue didn't like the terms presented and the Lakers hired (IMO) the superior candidate of the available choices.

Tyronn Lue Is Out of the Hunt for the Lakers’ Next Coach

The sides were unable to agree on contract terms, according to the people, with the Lakers willing to offer Lue only a three-year deal worth nearly $20 million — matching the time remaining on LeBron James’s contract with the team. Lue wanted a longer deal more in line with his status as a championship-winning coach

It makes sense what the Lakers were offering. Lue had yet to prove himself what he could do without Lebron and Lue felt he deserved more because he won a championship.

The Lakers were being cautious. They haven’t exactly had the best track record when it comes to head coaches after Phil.

People laughed at the Vogel hiring but it has worked nicely so far.

Often can be a good thing when fans don't like the move a team makes.....hoping that's the case for the Browns.

If you're going with a 1st time HC....I think Bienemy would have been a better hire.

Very disappointing at the lack of african american head coaches in the League.

In general would think there would be more, but hire the best guy. don't care what color he is.

what makes Bienemy better?

Look at his resume in KC?

Look how Minny's season just ended.....vanilla game vs SF. And just 21 games as an OC.
