I can’t put Wiggy in that class. He is just an ass. He says some intelligent stuff when he is able to see past his incredible biases.

Dorian and LBJ never offer anything intelligent.

I have to say, pretty good timing for Dorian to show up and prove my point.

This thread should be fine for it. We've already got the Actual Thread About Basketball. lol
was curious what people are seeing in their districts for school. Ours was extremely detailed and allowed families to choose between sending kids every day or virtual learning every day. You can choose to send then switch to virtual, but not vice versa.

I was kind of hoping for a hybrid, but can't really complain. BOE really in a no win situation and no way they'll please everyone. I did notice most of the complaints were either unfounded and/or could have been answered had they just read the entire plan.

Mine is planning hybrid for secondary and 100% of students for 4 days a week.

Many of these districts that are opening next month are going to end up closing before the end of October anyway. Their safety plans are not realistic or sustainable. Only hope for schools to remain open is if Covid never really hits your town. Because open schools will spread it if it is there.

I'm lucky. My youngest is 23, so I don't have to care what the districts are doing.

Not sure what the grandsons district is doing. I was thinking about it the other day. If they do the parent's choice thing, that'll be a little tough. The younger grandson has asthma, so I doubt his Mom is gonna want him going to school.

The older grandson loves school and will want to go, but I don't see his Mom wanting to risk him bringing it home to his little brother.

I definitely don't have faith they will remain open to students for the entire year. Depends as you said on Covid in the town and what the plan is as far as what would force them to shut down and go all virtual.

I hear some parents saying what happens when a kid gets the virus? To me, that's more a when not an if. Question is how many would require a shutdown of the school. Supposed to be more answers coming Monday. after the plan went out they asked for FAQs so we'll see how they answer the ones they get.

On the other hand, she's a single Mom whose ex is an asshole and will refuse to help in any way because it'll make things tougher for her.
Ours loved what they did last year and would vote stay home if the same (slept in, played video games, did work at own pace)

But this year wont be the same from home. last year was on the fly with no way to plan. This year virtual option will pretty much have the kids with a regular class schedule...just done virtually from home with the kids who are there.

Just read a long post from a teacher (teaches out of our district with a child in our district). She has had a clear bias about sending kids back but she did make some good points. Those sending kids for the social interaction might be disappointed. The kids will be kept apart by faculty/staff. Wont be anything like "normal" school has been. Not to mention all the necessary harping to wash hands.

such a mess.

Exactly.

And most school divisions (at least every one I have been associated with) tend to be conservative and close when in doubt. A pocket of kids test positive or a teacher dies and they are going to close.

And if you know realistically that you are going to close, why open in the first place?

Yea with like half the states I can't see a realistic opening scenario for school.

I'll somewhat agree that WiggityWack's 2 biggest weaknesses are his biases and arrogance...

funny part about it is he can never admit when he's wrong, which i find hilarious personally...
