Had a morbid curiosity to take a peek.

Figured it was nothing I haven't seen before, and it wasn't.

Still.....

I had to go lay down for a bit after Gianna's.

I couldn't bring myself to read about any of the others.

Nobody deserves to go out like that.

Especially children who had no say and never got a chance to really live.
Glad you mentioned this before I took a gander.....now I wont.

Haven't seen much Covid info here lately (and sorry for bringing it up again), but this was some info I thought was worth sharing....

It's obviously still scary and a problem (and worse than flu), but less so if you look at the numbers by age.......

https://data.cdc.gov/NCHS/Provision...A6rzVJXQlwrlkMnY09-3Vlc6QCk4wkdrMSvRwTR9iz5vA

US Deaths under 55 :4000 US Population under 55: 220,000,000
Over is 51,000 and 78,000,000.

Mentioned a little while back deaths much lower than the 80k (now 90) according to the CDC's own website. As of 5/13, they have reported covid deaths around 55K

To be fair, maybe CDC calculates deaths differently based on when reported maybe? Honestly, not sure why such a large discrepancy.

Doubt it accounts for all of the discrepancy. But it's been reported that if someone tested positive for the coronavirus and died of something else, it was reported as a coronavirus death.

I definitely knew about that type of info but who knows how true that is. way too much misinformation out there from the 100%ers.

But this is the CDCs own website. Are they alleged to have an agenda (honestly, I have not looked into it that much)?

Yeah, I'd expect that some were just off of the fact that hospitals get paid more on coronavirus related treatments and they're all pretty much hemorrhaging money with not being able to do elective procedures.

I'd hope the CDC doesn't have an agenda.

The CDC lags because they go entirely off death certificates.

Not saying you are wrong as I don't know, but That would be some lag...how long has it been since John's Hopkins was reporting "only" 50,000 deaths?

They still haven't fully updated the week of 4/25 and show "only" 8000 deaths since.

They were updating much faster before that week...one may wonder why that is....

Watching game 6 of the 2019 finals right now @raptorlife4

Totally forgot how huge Van Vleet was in the 4th quarter. There is a game 7 without his big shots

Yup, the Raptors bench really killed the Warriors. Ibaka, Powell, Van Vleet significantly outplayed the Warriors bench, IMO.

ultimately all that winning comes at a cost of depth

Warriors still had good depth, as they still made it far despite the injuries. Maybe all the winning and deep runs were a factor in the injuries, though. Those Raptor bench guys just stepped up and deserve a lot of credit. VanVleet had been struggling up until the Game 3 against the Bucks. He caught fire and it carried through. Ibaka would be a starter on most teams. And Norman Powell is super long and just a very useful, good player.

Meanwhile for the Warriors, Iguodala had to be a starter. Cousins didn't play well and I think Cook only had one good game.

Cousins did have a couple good Finals game, though. But compared to expectations, he probably fell short.

No, the Warriors bench was starting because the starters were hurt. The remaining bench players were the 8, 9, 10 guys instead of 6, 7, 8

^^^This^^^

And when you consider most coaches shrink their rotations in the playoffs, a couple of those may not have played anything more than mop up minutes if everyone's healthy.
