I totally agree on everything here.

Funny thing is this list helps Lebron fans debate with Jordan fans lmao. They can say Jordan best teammate is higher than any of Brons best teammate (excluding Shaq since he was WASHEDDDD) Bron's highest teammate is Wade at 26.
That's always been a big part of the argument. Jordan had more help.

And I think most would agree that LeBron faced greater competition in the Finals. Spurs and Warriors in 7 of the 9 Finals would make it tough for anyone to have a winning record.

Totally. People are all 'oh man Barkley what a warrior, gave everything he had, gave the Bulls their toughest Finals'. Well sorry Chuck you're 0-1 in the Finals, .000 winning percentage. It'd be better if you hadn't gotten there, that makes you worse. LeBron got to 9 finals (and counting). But he'd be a better player if he was only 3-2 in the finals? Or 3-0, undefeated in the finals like Mike? GTFO.

Yeah.

Might actually be the dumbest argument ever to count Finals losses as negatives on a players’ resume.

Yeah, in most any other field or industry, being the second best organization in the business is considered a positive thing.

Yeah, and failing to get to the Finals never gets counted against other greats for the most part.

LMAO. I absolutely LOVE this show so much. Episode 3 has a cameo that got me all teared up and it also ends with a hilarious "reunion" of two certain media figures. So many jokes but I won't give it away. You gotta watch.

People can't have it both ways though..

You can't put Bill Russell in the top 10 because he was the ultimate winner. But, not hold it against Jerry West, Wilt, Lebron.

I admit that I am hooooorrrible at comparing eras and usually leave that to my betters.

But, I haven't seen a single shred of evidence that proves Russell was better than Shaq, Dream nor Wilt...

......outside of jewelry.

Again: I am not good at this.

But, Russell looks like Ben Wallace at worst, Alonzo Mourning at best.

Imo.....

Chips are the the tie breaker when all other things are equal.

Horry has rings on both hands. But, he was not even in Malone's zip code.

Malone was right there with Duncan. But, Duncan gets the nod because...ringz.

That's how I see the Lebron/Jordan debate.

As much as it pains me to say this, Lebron is better than Magic.

He is.

....on both sides of the ball.

I don't think that can be definitively proven against Jordan.

LeBron is the better creator and rebounder.

I 'd take Jordan everywhere else.

Plus, their hearts aren't the same.

I think it's clear Jordan is the GOAT.

But, Lebron is on his ass for sure.

Yeah, being a Game of Thrones fan will help you fully appreciate all the jokes and references. But I think if you're just an avid NBA, there's still plenty of stuff you'll get. Though you probably need to be an AVID fan. Like if you're just a casual fan, you're not gonna get a lot of the background references, player beefs, media jokes, etc. Couple of examples; the Zach Lowe/Swamp Dragons joke or all the names of the books in the media library

Klay Thompson isn't even 4th all time.

Here is the actual article from the guy who posted that list. It was done in 2019

The absolute best shooters of this NBA decade

Look at the shot charts for Lebron and Klay that are posted. Lebron is at 70% in the paint against Klay's 59%. After that, it's not even close in any other area of the court.

LMAO.

Re: ESPNs recent top 10 players list.

I have a hard time accepting Bill Russell as a top 10 player.

I know his stats are amazing, but the league had league had 9 teams when he won his first title. In fact, in order for a team to make the playoffs in that era was to not be one of the bottom 3 teams.

I hold guys like Shaq and Hakeem in much higher regard.

That's why GOAT discussions are ultimately a fools errand.

Never mind that even if you're discussing the greatest player of a specific era the criteria used is going to be different from person to person.

Trying to discuss players across eras when rules and styles of play seem to change with each era and we learn and invent new advances in training and medicine, it becomes impossible.
