The issue is the same as so many others.... way too many are on 100% on one side or the other. Either doom and gloom and will be a year or more before we can get back to regular life....or let's go back now, open up everything including mass gatherings. As usual, the answer probably lies in the middle. Unfortunately too many (not all) of those on an extreme side will believe anything that supports their beliefs and dismiss anything that doesn't.

I've heard some on the open up side compare this to the Holocaust, which is obscene.

I am aware, but have seen people say the true numbers from the CDC were 35k (meaning not all 80k traced to covid)...I'll see if I can find the article.

This is fair...but some of these "experts" were way off on projections.

As they said they would be, and had to be.
At least they are based off of unbiased , inputed data into scientific models.

Not only that, if you read the fine print it states they can be 1-8 weeks behind with their numbers.

I'm talking about some of the numbers spewed out that anyone who understood basic math knew were absurd.

Like in Ohio the doc who assists the governor said 40-60% will be infected and at the high point we'll get 10K per day.

she was only about 9500 off on the high day so far (at least last I checked). still don't think we quite get to 4-6 million.

and there seem to be so many antimaskers who talk as though the masks are laced with an ingestible poison.

I don't like them, but I'll wear one in a store for 15-30 minutes as required or just asked.

Even if it doesn't help, it doesn't hurt.

So, why not at least make the effort?

Just give a damn about your fellow man and maybe stop acting like a Fucking SAVAGE, murdering people, because they wouldn't let you in a store that made wearing a mask mandatory?

One of the main reasons I want this to hurry up and end is because we are reaching a critical point of insanity and some of the loons are devolving even further.

Not sure if this is national or Ohio but they are saying they will be offering random testing to people (the antibody test) and some people are claiming if someone tests positive they can and will snatch kids from the house.

I guess they heard it on internet so must be true.

The flip side of that is many people who died of this are already old and pretty sick. So if you are in the hospital or nursing home and you have emphysema or pneumonia and you get the virus, it counts as a virus death but you were going to die in a few months anyway.

So the reported number is probably a good approximation of the virus's severity and lethality

Then you'll get the so-called reports about the danger of wearing the masks. I always ask them if they ever go into surgery will they tell their surgeon and his/her staff to take off their masks.

If you have two commoades at home try dropping a deuce in the one less visited. It'll be a change of scenery & you can prentend you're someplace else for a few minutes.

For sure in New York.

Not sure about other States.


New Yorkers who die at home are not being tested for COVID-19, even if they had flu- or coronavirus-like symptoms at the time of death, which is likely leading to a massive underreporting of COVID-19 fatalities.
