well, yeah. I was referring more to the power play. I would see G get back on the left boards QBing the power play in his office and bringing back the threat of his one-timer.
Ill agree as he does look so much better on the left side on the PP where he can shoot his one timer.

Tonight is a must win. Clearly an inferior opponent, but the “old” flyers managed to play down to the level of the competition and lost far too many games against bad teams.

they’re coming off a great stretch against good teams. Cannot have a let down, and squander two points.

coaching and team character will be on display tonight.

Although it's from the Athletic pay site, this is a fantastic read if you're into that sort of thing :
The art of the faceoff: A former NHL specialist analyzes...

"Centres who use a higher flex number (i.e., a more rigid stick) tend to have the upper hand, and Thompson is among them. Ryan O’Reilly, a perennial faceoff god, uses sticks with 105 flex (at least that’s the impression based on online retailers who sell game-used pro stock). Fellow faceoff aces Sean Couturier and Sidney Crosby also use a stiffer flex. Conversely, finesse players like Domi rarely opt to sacrifice flex, and pass up the benefits of a whippier twig at the offensive end, just to win a few more faceoffs."
This as a hockey player is just common sense. Every center in the NHL knows if they use a stiffer blade on the stick than the other center you will be pulling the puck back and winning the faceoff a lot more times than not.

I am psyched for a huge win tonight. They have been moving their feet so well on both offense and defense cutting off time and space on D and creating opportunities on offense. I hope they dont regress and glide around tonight juts because it's Ottawa.

Yep, agree with you guys. Always gotta get the points against teams that are clearly inferior like Ottawa.

I'm taking Oskar "Grouch" Lindblom for first goal tonight. Coots tomorrow. I will also predict we shutout Ottawa tonight.

Jake 9 points in his last 10 games. I think he took AV's tongue lashing pretty well.

can't help myself...

I really am sick and tired of these "SCORING CHANCES" the writers like to talk about.... He gets the puck to the right side of the goalie, does some stupid back up spin move (and MOVE is being generous) then FIRES the puck to the mid section of the goalie. It's the same play over and over and gets us squat. Hell, if I were the opposition, I'd leave him undefended and hope he gets the puck. Sure fire way to get a stop and likely faceoff, snuffing any scoring threat.

Couturier tonight.

Heck, I'll take him both nights. He's due a couple, for sure, and just starting to play huge minutes.

Ouch! Losing to Ottawa really sucks. I have nothing:L. We outshot them, but Nilsson outdid Hart tonight. What's going on with our PP?
