yeah, he's an idiot. The championship series is a best of 3 for both teams that reach it.

How does everyone else feel about the event being in OKC? To me it's like the men's being in Omaha. OKC really embraces the event.

Oklahoma City has always been the home of softball.

College and/or international play. ASA Headquarters are there.

Oklahoma City is the only place it should be.

Washington-Florida State, on paper, appears to be pretty even.

The teams have played 6 common opponents during the season

Portland State: Washington 1-0 FSU 2-0
Minnesota: Washington 1-0 FSU 2-0
Notre Dame: Washington 1-0 FSU 3-1
Alabama: Washington 4-0 FSU 1-1
UCLA: Washington 0-3 FSU 2-1
Oregon: Washington 1-3 FSU 2-1

Washington 8-6 vs common opponents...FSU is 12-4

For as much success as they have had as a program, I thought
the UCLA coach made a major blunder in her pitching schedule.

Oklahoma had no choice but to pitch Parker. You can't win two
unless you win the first one. Washington, though, was smart.
They rested their Freshman gal and went with their other pitcher.

Even if they had loss the first game, they still had the ace of the
tourney, for their staff, to fall back on.

UCLA trotted that Garcia out there for the first game. I understand
that you cannot hurt a softballer's arm, because of the way they throw, but that doesn't prevent them from getting physically tired.

Garcia had pitched every game for them, and it is hot out there.
We got to her late in the first game and then it was HR derby vs
her and those other stiffs they trotted out there, in game 2.

UCLA should have taken a lesson from Washington and not pitched
her in Game 1 and use her in Game 2, if needed.

I don't really think any of that matters. At all. It's about how they are playing right now today.

UW had a stretch toward the end of the regular season where they had back to back 3 game sweeps against them. Since regrouping they haven't dropped a game. Before that stretch they were nearly unbeatable.

Both teams have played against some high level opponents this post season and risen to the point of reaching this championship series so both are playing well.

Oregon was one of those teams that swept them in 3 games and yet UW had no problems at all shutting them down and pushing them to the losers bracket. Because timing is everything and right now they are dialed in.

FSU has scored a lot of runs in this post season, but given up more than UW. Seems that's the question here. Can Gabbie stifle FSU as much as she has been in her dominating performances and can UW score at least enough to win against a staff that hasn't pitched a shutout since the regionals.

It will come down to nerves and momentum.

Congrats FSU. UW just ran into a buzz saw.
