Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain
Nadal just retired in the 5th against Cilic.
I would've loved to see another Federer/Nadal final...but most importantly I just want Federer to win again and for Federer to finish with more Grand Slams than Nadal. So overall I'm ok with Nadal losing today.Nadal just retired in the 5th against Cilic.

I think it’s his ego that needs treatment, not his leg. If his leg could speak he would be like “what the heck dude, I am fine! Just finish the match and lose like a champion”Why can’t Nadal lose like most players do...in a regular fashion. Is losing in a normal manner that detrimental to his ego and psyche? He started having the phantom pain that plagues many top players when they are losing in the last ten minutes of match. I know by saying this I am further jinxing Fed to lose against Berdych. But these are valid questions that true Nad-lovers in this forum have the answers to.

Sometimes. Other times not so much. Like in the Halep / Davis match when both of them looked like they were going to die. I wish the rest of the majors would adopt the last set tie break.
Funny. I came here to ask the same thing about Nole. If he's healthy and at 90%+ of form I think he's a no-brainer to win this with ease. He's just a master at this venue. I haven't seen him play (even on highlights) but just looking at the box scores so far I'd take him over the rest of the field even money at this point. I know the AO is sometimes viewed as the red headed stepchild of majors but he's just a monster here.
Now, now, now. The French open was really cool before Nadal hit the scene, it was maybe a little bit less cool when Nadal the "clay court specialist" was mowing people down, and it became his boring house when he was in his prime making the tournament a lot less interesting. 10 years from now when there isn't a freak tennis talent that isn't the greatest ever 2 times over on the surface isn't playing it will be cool again.
Keys getting embarrassed & Kerber is back to the 2016 version of herself
6-1 3-0
Unreal. Kerber almost lost to Hsieh who hits the ball 75 mph. Now Keys implodes to her. Svitolina was killing everyone too and loses to Mertens.
