That we will never know because they were the only team to put a claim on him since the Penguins could automatically reassign him to WBS. Honestly my only thought is they need the roster filler and he is familiar with they system already?

I don't think they need anymore roster filler. There's way too many players that are playing like roster fillers as it is.

Oh yeah I totally agree probably has to do with Reese, Wilson and Grant in the NHL and they got a familiar body at WBS that has semblance of offensive ability which they are void of?

When Sid is rolling and carrying the team...he goes into funks. I blame Rutherford (pathetic roster he has put together) and think it's time to move Kessel and get rid of Sully. I have no understanding of what Sully is doing with lines/combo's.

Agreed. Kessel has been terrible. And Sully keeps talkin big game about finding the right line combinations, but I have yet to see it.

Sprong was traded for another defenseman. Nothing special but 22 and is 6'4" and seems sound in his own end.
They could have gotten more for Sprong before the season prior to everyone realizing he isn't going to be much in the NHL but this is a major upgrade over Ruhwedel as the 6/7 d-man.

Sid is really carrying this team...the rest are just riding his coat tails. Maybe it's time to move Malkin, if they've given up moving Kessel. On or the other should go

Dea is more than just AHL filler now. With Simon out they recalled him.

The Pens need to fire Gonchar. He wasn't a good defender and he's coaching the slop the pens have now and it shows. This team couldn't clear a puck against many minor league teams. My god, DuMoulin is horrible. I think playing with Letang and Jonhnson has made him worse.

Dumo and Letang have both been exceptional this year, and belong in the conversation for best D pairing in the NHL. What complaint could you possibly make against Dumoulin?

Actually, the defense is starting to settle in. I'd rather see Oleksiak than Johnson, but Riikola has been solid, and he seems to make Maatta better.

You value the Pens D way more than I do...no shutdown D man on the team. Trouble getting out of their own zone, and constant chasing of the puck. It's their Achilles heel that has been covered by the outstanding play of the goalies for the past 10+ games.
