No the Lakers goal is not to win a title this year. You're just saying that nonsense because it bothers you LeBron left the Cavs again.

If you can't find 1 source saying the Lakers goal this year is title or bust then you're just making stuff up.

I didn't say win a title this year. Try again. The Cavs could very well get a top 3 pick this year and next, not likely but possible depending on circumstances.

What are you talking about? lol with Lebron healthy they could very well be 4-5 RIGHT NOW. It isn't a fail if the season isn't over. You seem very confused.

Actually quite a few did pick the Lakers to finish top 4 and get to the 2nd round even WCF's. You have no clue man.

Since Lebron has been out the Lakers are 3-6:
Kings L
Clips L
Kings W
Thunder L
TWolves L
Mavs W
Pistons W
Jazz L
Cavs L

I think with Lebron they could have went at least 6-3 or 7-2. That is a 4th seed in the West. BUT this is one of the most inaccurate comments of all-time. :pound: Stop dude...just stop

Four teams that are better than the Lakers this year in the WC.

Nuggets, Warriors, Thunder, Blazers. Even w/ a healthy LeBron for the entire season the Lakers wouldn't have finished w/ a better record than the teams I mentioned. So your theory of LeBron carrying them all season long to a top 4 spot I think is wrong.

Your own words from comment # 13966: The Lakers goal is to win a title / The Cavs goal is to get a top 3 pick.

But you're not talking about this year? Yeah right.

You are making zero sense man. Stop. First off, you keep saying this wouldn't happen but the season isn't over. RIGHT NOW, the Lakers with Lebron could be in the top 4. Most would agree. And yes a lot of people did have them top 4. So you are wrong again. Your point of Lebron carrying them all season is pointless bc he got injured for 10 games and the season isn't over. Stop saying stupid shit

Do you think they would have stayed in the top 4 all year? I don't.

I think it'd likely be a revolving door. 3-6 spots would be entirely fluid between the Thunder, Blazers, Lakers and Rockets. All those teams are capable of being really streaky. IMO, Lakers could have just as easily secured the 3 spot, as they might have the 6th, fully healthy. Again barring other teams being healthy as well.

Like I already said even w/ a healthy LeBron I don't see the Lakers as a top 4 seed.

That's fine. I wouldn't argue against it. I had them pegged as a top 4 team, but the talent is deep in the West. I wouldn't be shocked to see them at 6 even with a healthy Lebron.

Hate the Lakers or not, It is pretty damn obvious that they would have been right in the thick of things for a top 3 seed had Lebron not gotten hurt. Saying anything else is insane.

38 more games for them to beat up on each other in the WC......there will be some separation IMO.

We will see. Last year there wasn't any separation so there's no lock that it happens this year either

3 games separated 3rd and 9th last year

I'm sorry, I disagree.

Lonzo, Ingram, Ball, Hart should be enough to get by Cedi, Hood, Clarkson and Sexton.

This is inexcusable and I blame Luke.

Unless you think @WiggyRuss is right about Cedi and Thompson?

It's not inexcusable because they aren't that much better. Better, but not THAT much. It's not college where bad teams are always gonna lose. Bad teams can still win games in the NBA. Phoenix beat the Kings this past week. The Magic beat Houston last night. Shit happens. Forget about where Ball and Ingram were drafted and whatever their potential could be and evaluate their play. They just aren't that good right now. They are basically averagish starters neither of which look anything special. Hart is just a role player. Right now, he's a poor man's Trevor Ariza. And so far, the more responsibility he has, the worse he performs because he's not yet good enough to be in a bigger role. Throw that in with the floatsam signed post-Lebron and its a very meh NBA team. Meh can lose to anyone on a given night. There just isn't much talent out there. If you want inexcusable, ask Magic/Pelinka why they don't have basic supporting staff like shooting coaches.

So, if I'm understanding things correctly, Lakers management has succeeded based solely on the fact that the Lakers are located in LA? It's pretty obvious the roster around LeBron is not very good(the young guys are overrated, and the other FA signings were really bad). LeBron just so happen to want to live in LA. Congrats to Magic, Pelinka and the Buss family for being located in LA.

of course that was the reason he signed there. How could anyone say any different?

LeBron wanted to be in the sunshine and make movies. No one can possibly say that LeBron thought it would be his best chance to win games to go to the Lakers.

I mean- especially considering that Magic and Pelinka are first time execs......Jeanie is just now taking ownership of basketball operations. The whole power structure is people doing the job for the first time that are totally unproven. Walton- first time young head coach that has never proven anything. Even the players- a bunch of young kids- most of which are underperforming their draft positions.
