... it was stated that people who weren't alive when those atrocities happened should move on because those demographics are in a better place BECAUSE they happened.

Um....no.

You don't use it as a crutch or weapon.

But, you don't have to stop talking about it because it makes people feel uncomfortable.
Taken all together, I didn't take @thunderc 's posts like that... I took him more to be saying that the past is in the past and either lingering on it or (going even further) trying to rectify history in the present wasn't a good goal. But he can speak for himself.

Speaking for myself, I don't mind talking about these matters... and I certainly wouldn't advocate folks stop talking about them because they might make others uncomfortable.

For me, it's not about the feelings of others. It's about what goes on inside the individual... holding resentments doesn't do a person any good in my experience.

Detroit/Houston in another good one.

Have to give Capela credit. He is playing like he deserved all the money Houston gave him in the summer

Lets see if the Cavs can keep a lead late. Up 12 with 3 to go in Philly. They have lost so many leads late

Cavs up 9 with 5 to go in Philly
Sexton has been playing some good ball lately....

So has Tristan. Hes really been stepping up in the middle of a tough year to be a leader. The Cavs are by no means anywhere near good but if they had Love they wouldnt be nearly this bad.

Getting rid of JR helps.

seriously....they have blown a lot of games thus far this season already that they couldve won.

the upside of that is that its more ping pong balls in the hopper. Just gotta finish bottom 3 and it doesnt really mattter.

Hood and Clarkson have too actually. Cedi too. All the young guys seem to be clicking finally, no drama anymore

Rose on his way to grab 6th MOY. So many doubted this man over the years.. he's continuing to throw it back in the hatas faces.

That Chicago front office continues to look like geniuses breaking that team up and kicking Thibs to the curb

does Thanksgiving really symbolize the genocide of Indians though?
Thanksgiving is symbolic of when. Americans and the residents already living their stopped and took time to be thankful for what God has done for then. I can understand why an atheist would attack it, but I still take the time. This week we took the time to be thankful that my sister made it out alive from Paradise Ca. SHE LOST every thing but her car, dog and some clothes and laptop. We also celebrated the fact that my nephew , the vice principal of Paradise safely helped to evacuate the kids to safety and then made it out alive . Cars on the same road didnt make it and people were burned to dead. I think the discussion of atrocities should be part of the discussion to remind those of us who are not guilty of that, to be mindful of the good and bad.

I went up to Chico and cooked a 23 pound Turkey and ham, dinner rolls and mashed potatoes with country white gravy for 15 of us and it helped to heal a lot of wounds in a family that was divided until this happen, so you have to take the good and bad whether you like it or not

You didn't take it that way?

He flat out said people should be happy that these atrocities happened because of where we are today.

A lot of people bitching about circumstances need to take a hard look at where they and their families would be now if things hadn’t gone down like they did. They want to benefit from it and bitch about it at the same time though, just the world we live in.

There is no rearranging that truth no matter how many ways you try.

Nothing I have today makes slavery worth it.

The Jewish communities affluence in Hollywood didn't make the holocaust worth it.

That 38 billion dollar settlement to the victims families didn't make 9/11 worth it.

Pechanga Casino, although very nice, doesn't make what Native Americans went thru worth it.

Just stop....lol

The topic was dead.

But, you keep giving it life.

@thunderc moved on.

I moved on.

Agree to disagree.
