Boston about to lose their 8th game of the season and fall to 9-8

Did not happened last year until game # 34
Kyrie and Hayward should have stayed injured.

This is another example of why you can't assume that adding more talent doesn't necessarily improve the team. The Celtics will get better but all the people saying that they were going to redefine the game this year were being a bit unrealistic.

The Cavs next 9 games

VS Lakers
AT Philly
VS Houston
VS Minny
AT OKC
AT Boston
VS Toronto
AT Brooklyn
VS Golden State

Any doubt they're 2-21/3-20 after this stretch?

Yep, I think without Kyrie and Hayward the Celtics overachieved and got great coaching from Stevens. There is still plenty of talent and they should be fine by seasons end but at least 2-3 other teams in the East could beat them in the playoffs.

I could absolutely see anyone one of the top 4 teams in the East(Raptors, Celtics, Sixers, Bucks) winning in the East. It will really depend on how their teams come together and what players they bring in. IMO, there is a 0% chance that the Celtics or the Sixers will stand pay with their current rosters.

Not to mention who those guys are.

Hayward was fantastic in the Utah system, but he is coming off a terrible injury and he is the type of player who thrives off of ball movement, coming off pin downs, etc.

Kyrie puts up great numbers, but he holds the ball and takes away from team flow.

I been saying this all along.

If one of them make a big move at the trade deadline it could shift the advantage in that teams favor, but if the playoffs started today it'd be a battle between those 4. Will come down to which all stars show up, good coaching, and a little luck.

Honestly,

Indiana does not have the star power, but they are right there. They are least likely to win the East, but I would not be shocked if they beat 1 or 2 of these teams in the playoffs.

Oladipo playing like an all star and a lot of good role players around him, I could see it happening. Even if the Pacers don't beat one of them they will put up a fight.

I know we're just 16 games in, basically just 20% of the season is gone, but I think the Spurs could be in trouble.

Adding somebody like Howard certainly didn't help I'm sure.
They got him on a 1 year, 5 mil deal.

Low risk.

They had to add a Center after dealing Gortat, who was feuding with Wall.

He isn't helping on the floor, because he's gimp.

But, he isn't the problem child , locker room saboteur this go around.

Celtics finally benched Hayward today
Didn't appear to help.

Sixers win in lackluster fashion tonight. But a win is a win.
Simmons with the quietest 19/11/9. Butler only took 9 shots, but winning cures all ills. Winning with 19 TO is pretty hard to do, but they are up there in FTA and holding opponents to low FG%.

I mentioned that the Celtics had the same winning percentage with Kyrie playing as they did without him last year. He's an incredible talent but it is unclear to me whether he really is a net improvement to that team given his playing style.
