In typical fashion, the Heat are performing the dirty work with commitment. They're making opponents work for their shot attempts, ranking third in quantified shot probability, a Second Spectrum stat that measures the likelihood of a shot going in taking into account shot quality and the player shooting it. And they're second in the NBA in rebounding rate. Coming up this week: Three winnable games against Sacramento, Charlotte and Atlanta. -- Arnovitz

Based on what?

The Lakers are highly unlikely to finish higher than 6th and they might not get that. 20 or 21 is about the lowest that pick could be. Most likely is around 18 and it is possible, albeit unlikely the pick ends up in the lottery.

Korver is a 37 year old role player who can really only do one thing and is a liability on D. Deal Rondo and a 2nd, OK. Not a first.

Because the Lakers would only be marginally better with Korver and the Cavs probably want to shed his salary anyway. This would be way worse than when the Wizards dealt a first for a Bogdanovich rental. You don't make deals like that unless you are a legit contender. The Lakers aren't there yet.

First, who said it has to be this years pick?

Even if it was this years pick, they can place protections on the pick so that if it ends up being, for example, a top 15 pick, they keep it.

He will be back in plenty of time to get traded....lol

Actually, I think they will keep him until after the draft.

They can get more from teams that whiff on Kawhi, Jimmy, Durant, Klay.....

You think a #2 or #3 option making 120 million over 4 years is easily tradeable? And they can get a lot for him?

@trojanfan12 we must be missing something on Love....

It's a tough call on Love, imo. The guy is a very good basketball player and, when healthy, can really help a team as a #2 or #3 scoring option and he's an excellent rebounder.

In fact, a healthy Kevin Love would be a huge help to the Lakers since he would provide 2 things they need.

But, I wouldn't want the Lakers to try to get him because he just can't stay healthy and at age 30, it's unlikely that health will become less of an issue as he ages.
